Queen City Track Club

Who We Are

The Queen City Track Club is made up of a group of post collegiates and college coaches who are looking to serve budding Track and Field athletes in the City and surrounding areas. The group is coached by Jim Vahrenkamp. Combined they have 10 individual NCAA champions and more than 100 all-americans. Our goal is to offer a cohesive training environment, in a thriving city in the southeast, to help young student-athletes reach the next steps in their careers.

What do we offer

  • Individualized coaching. Each athlete is different, we provide access to coaches that provide personalized instruction.

  • Scheduled training groups. Each week we have scheduled runs for various groups throughout the city of Charlotte. We help coordinate those groups.

  • Access to facilities. We provide access to facilities including a track, trails, med balls, and more.

  • Cross Country Meets - Open competitions open to the general public and collegiate teams. Sign up on DirectAthletics.com

Where Are WE

We are located in Charlotte, North Carolina. We are two hours from the highest point on the east coast allowing for altitude training. Charlotte continues to develop a network of trails and is home to a strong running community. Additionally, Charlotte features McAlpine Creek Park a groomed 5k cross country course that allows access to fall races and training. Johnson C Smith University offers public access to their IAAF certified mondo track through a partnership with the Charlotte Parks and Rec department.
