Introduction: One family medicine group (FMG) in Quebec has commenced a 5-year pilot project, which is herein referred to as the Archimde model, to implement a patient-centred model based on interprofessional care and the optimal use of healthcare providers' practice scopes. A research project will be conducted to: (1) assess this model's effect on the FMG's operational performance, and its users' resource utilisation at the public health system level; (2) investigate its optimisation with respect to professional roles, interprofessional teamwork and patient-centredness and (3) document users' experience with the model. The aim of this article is to describe the protocol that will be used for this research.

We investigate the effects on health care costs and utilization of team-based primary care delivery: Quebec's Family Medicine Groups (FMGs). FMGs include extended hours, patient enrolment and multidisciplinary teams, but they maintain the same remuneration scheme (fee-for-service) as outside FMGs. In contrast to previous studies, we examine the impacts of organizational changes in primary care settings in the absence of changes to provider payment and outside integrated care systems. We built a panel of administrative data of the population of elderly and chronically ill patients, characterizing all individuals as FMG enrollees or not. Participation in FMGs is voluntary and we address potential selection bias by matching on GP propensity scores, using inverse probability of treatment weights at the patient level, and then estimating difference-in-differences models. We also use appropriate modelling strategies to account for the distributions of health care cost and utilization data. We find that FMGs significantly decrease patients' health care services utilization and costs in outpatient settings relative to patients not in FMGs. The number of primary care visits decreased by 11% per patient per year among FMG enrolees and specialist visits declined by 6%. The declines in costs were of roughly equal magnitude. We found no evidence of an effect on hospitalizations, their associated costs, or the costs of ED visits. These results provide support for the idea that primary care organizational reforms can have impacts on the health care system in the absence of changes to physician payment mechanisms. The extent to which the decline in GP visits represents substitution with other primary care providers warrants further investigation.

Every year, teams from across the globe travel to this legendary Pee-Wee hockey tournament in Quebec that showcases some of the top talent in the world. Parents and players are exposed to the rich history and traditions of the game and the experience provides an opportunity to be fully immersed in French-Canadian culture and customs. Guy Lafleur, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy, Steven Stamkos, Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, and many more have all participated in this event during their Pee-Wee year.

The game in the two-loss elimination tournament is the culmination of a process Berube and tournament organizers first launched in August, when the possibility of the team being assembled was first broached by Evgheniy Pysarenko.

The Devil's Quebec Pee-Wee team has been busy preparing for their trip. The team recently had their alumni skate with the '06 Pee-wee Quebec team and had an amazing experience with NJ Devils interim coach, Alain Nasreddine stepping out on the ice with the team!

The team had the opportunity to go to a NJ Devils vs Nashville Predators game on January 30th and were featured on the jumbotron. In addition, they met with NJ Devil John Hayden. Hayden is a two-time Pee-wee Quebec tournament alumni.
