AST Developers ("AST Developers," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Qubiq Scan mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how information is used and shared, and the choices available to you.
Qubiq Scan's Android package name is com.astdeveloper.qubiqscan.
Qubiq Scan is a QR code and barcode scanner and generator. The App does not require an account and does not send the contents of your scanned or generated codes to an AST Developers server.
The App stores scan history, created codes, favorites, and preferences locally on your device. The App uses Google AdMob to display advertising and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage applicable privacy choices. Google and its advertising partners may collect and process certain device, usage, diagnostic, and approximate-location information as described below.
If you grant camera permission, Qubiq Scan uses the camera to detect QR codes and barcodes. Camera frames are processed for code recognition. We do not intentionally upload camera images or video to an AST Developers server.
You can deny or revoke camera permission through your device settings. Live camera scanning will not work without this permission, but other available App features may continue to work.
If you choose the Gallery option, you select an image using Android's system picker. The App accesses only the image you select and processes it to detect a code. We do not intentionally upload the selected image to an AST Developers server.
Depending on your settings and actions, the App may store the following locally on your device:
The text or payload contained in a scanned or generated code
A title and code format
Whether the code was scanned or created
The creation or scan time
Favorite status
Scan history
This information can include personal information if you scan or create a code containing such information. For example, a QR code may contain contact details, a Wi-Fi network name and password, an email address, a phone number, a location, or calendar information. Qubiq Scan does not require you to enter this information, and you should avoid storing or sharing sensitive information unless necessary.
The App stores preferences locally, including theme, accent color, vibration, sound, automatic-copy, and scan-history choices.
When you choose an action such as Copy, Share, Open, Search, Dial, Email, Maps, PNG export, PDF export, or Print, the App sends the selected content to the relevant Android system service or third-party app at your request. The receiving service or app processes the information under its own privacy policy. Review the destination before sharing sensitive code contents.
Generated PNG and PDF files may be created temporarily in the App's cache. Android or the App may remove cached files automatically. Copies you send or save outside the App are controlled by you and the receiving app or storage service.
Qubiq Scan uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to provide banner, app-open, and optional rewarded advertisements. Google states that the Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect or share information including:
IP address, which may be used to estimate approximate location
App interactions, such as app launches, taps, and ad or video views
Diagnostic and performance information, such as launch time, hangs, and energy usage
Device or other identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID where available
Google and participating advertising partners may use this information for advertising, ad measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and compliance. Advertising may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your region, choices, device settings, and Google's configuration.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some privacy laws may define certain advertising disclosures as a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising. Where required, Qubiq Scan provides access to applicable advertising privacy choices through the App's Settings screen.

Qubiq Scan uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request, store, and communicate advertising consent choices where required. The consent message may identify Google and other selected advertising partners and explain their purposes.
In regions where a privacy-options entry point is required, you can open Qubiq Scan → Settings → Privacy choices to review or change your advertising choices. You may also control or delete your Android advertising ID through your device's privacy settings.
Choosing not to consent to personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all advertisements. Google may still provide limited or non-personalized ads and process information where permitted for purposes such as ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, security, or compliance.
Qubiq Scan requests the following Android permissions:
Camera: to scan QR codes and barcodes using the live camera
Vibration: to provide optional feedback after a successful scan
Internet: to load consent messages and advertisements and to support user-initiated online actions
Network state: to determine network availability for advertising and related services
Qubiq Scan does not request contacts, precise location, SMS, phone-call, microphone, or broad storage permissions. Creating a QR code containing contact, SMS, phone, Wi-Fi, calendar, or location text does not grant the App access to the corresponding device data or permission.
Scan history, created codes, favorites, and preferences are stored in the App's private storage on your device. They remain until you delete individual records, clear the App's data, uninstall the App, or the operating system removes them.
Depending on your Android version, device configuration, Google account, and backup settings, Android may back up or transfer some App data using the platform's backup service. Such backups are controlled by your device and backup provider, not directly accessed by AST Developers, and may remain according to the provider's retention rules.
You can:
Delete individual saved codes from the App's Library
Turn off automatic scan-history saving in Settings
Clear all local App data through Android's App Info settings
Uninstall the App
Review or disable Android backup through your device or Google account settings
The App does not provide an account-based cloud history service, so there is no Qubiq Scan account to delete.
Information may be shared in the following circumstances:
At your direction: when you copy, share, export, print, open, search, dial, email, or map code content
Advertising and consent providers: with Google and participating advertising partners as described in sections 3 and 4
Android platform services: for permissions, file picking, printing, sharing, backup, and other system functions
Legal and safety reasons: if reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or enforceable government request, or to protect users, the public, AST Developers, or our rights
Business changes: if responsibility for the App is transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, subject to applicable law and appropriate notice
We do not operate a server that receives the contents of your scanned or generated codes as part of the App's normal operation.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the App's nature. Local App data is protected by Android's application sandbox. Google states that Mobile Ads SDK data is encrypted in transit using TLS.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device and for deciding what code content to scan, store, copy, export, or share.
Qubiq Scan is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through an AST Developers account or server. The App does not require an account.
If you believe a child has provided personal information in a way that is controlled by AST Developers, contact us using the details below. Advertising eligibility and treatment may also depend on the age settings and policies associated with the user's Google account and device.
Google and its advertising partners may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their processing is governed by their own privacy terms and applicable data-transfer safeguards. Please review the linked Google policies for more information.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information, such as rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
Most Qubiq Scan content is stored only on your device and can be managed using the controls described in section 6. Advertising information processed by Google is subject to Google's controls and request procedures. You may contact us if you have a privacy question or request relating to information controlled by AST Developers.
The App may open websites or other apps based on a scanned code or an action you select. AST Developers does not control those third parties and is not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices. Check the destination carefully before opening links or sharing information.
Qubiq Scan incorporates Google services and libraries, including Google Mobile Ads, User Messaging Platform, ML Kit barcode scanning, and Android platform components. Their use of information is governed by their applicable terms and privacy policies.
If this policy is hosted on Google Sites, Google may process technical information related to visits to the policy page under the Google Privacy Policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, third-party services, legal requirements, or our practices. We will post the updated policy at this location and revise the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
