Robot DESIGN

To start building your robot, each team requires a LEGO SPIKE Prime Kit along with the Expansion Kit. There are several pre-existing robot designs available using these kits, which can be accessed here. As teams gain experience and confidence, they have the opportunity to develop and build their own custom designs, applying creativity and problem-solving skills to enhance their robots. 

Teams can program their robots using Block Coding or Python, depending on their preference and experience level. Step-by-step coding lessons and resources are available at FLL Tutorial Prime Lessons. to help teams get started and improve their programming skills. 

Attachments are an essential part of your robot, allowing it to interact with missions and complete challenges. Teams can start by using pre-designed attachments provided with the LEGO SPIKE Prime kits, then gradually experiment to create their own custom attachments. Building effective attachments involves planning, testing, and iterating to ensure they work reliably during the competition. Resources and guides are available to help teams learn techniques for designing, assembling, and refining attachments for optimal performance.
