Core Values: Respect, Accountability, Honesty, Hard Work, Determination, Teamwork
Expectations:
Every Varsity meet there will be JV matches. This does not mean your child will wrestle at every match. It always depends how many kids are on the other team. We always try to get everyone at least 1 match during events like duals, triangulars, quadrangulars, or dual tournaments. But it just depends on the amount of kids the other team has. The coaches can't accurately predict or give anyone a heads up for varsity/jv events if your child will wrestle. During an individual tournament or 9th grade league event your child will always get matches.
Monday night meets and Individual tournaments I can guarantee your child will wrestle even if it is against his or her own teammates.
Earning a spot and what that means:
Varsity individual/Section tournament wrestle offs and 9th grade league individual sections wrestle offs.
All kids that want to wrestle off for a certain weight will have the opportunity to do so.
Wrestle Offs- Throughout the season we will have wrestle offs. Wrestle offs will be a best of 2 out of 3 scenario for the first round of the year. After the first round, the wrestler who holds the spot only needs to win the first match. If the challenger wins the first match, then the wrestle off becomes a best of 2 out of 3 scenario.
There are no team wrestle off unless we see fit. We tell you the weight for team we need you at and that is where you weigh in. The best line up to win the dual at the time will be communicated. The team is the top priority always. Team first mentality is crucial to our success and your own.
If we have an odd number then we will do a round robin tournament.
-Wrestlers MUST be within 3 lbs of the weight they wish to wrestle at for wrestle offs.
