QuackStack ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use any of our mobile applications ("Apps") or related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using any of our Apps, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
We may collect the following types of information, depending on the features of the App you're using:
a. Personal Information
- Name
- Email address
- Contact details (if voluntarily provided)
- Account credentials or identifiers (if applicable)
b. Device and Usage Information
- Device type and operating system
- App usage data and interaction patterns
- Crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data
- App settings and preferences
c. Camera and Face Data (Sunkissed – Tanning App)
Sunkissed offers an optional face scan feature to estimate your skin type. This feature is only used if you choose it; you can always select your skin type manually instead.
- What we collect: When you use the face scan, the App uses your device's front camera to capture a single photo of your face. The photo is analysed on your device using Apple's Vision framework to detect where your face is in the image, and the App samples the colour of your skin to estimate your skin type (Fitzpatrick scale 1–5), skin tone evenness, and current tan level.
- What we do not collect: We do not collect facial geometry, face maps, Face ID or TrueDepth data, or any biometric identifiers. Face data is never used to identify or recognise you.
- Where it is processed and stored: All face scan processing happens entirely on your device. Face photos and face data are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party. Only the resulting skin type number is stored, locally on your device.
- Retention: The face photo is held in your device's memory only while the analysis runs and is then discarded. It is never saved to your device's storage. The resulting skin type is kept on your device until you change it, use Settings → "Delete All Data", or delete the App.
d. Health Data (Sunkissed – Tanning App)
If you grant permission, Sunkissed writes estimated vitamin D amounts from your tanning sessions to Apple Health. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with third parties, and never stored on our servers. You can revoke access at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
e. Location Data
If you grant permission, some Apps use your device's location to provide local weather and UV index information. Location is used only to provide this feature and is not used to track you or shared for advertising.
f. Tracking and Analytics
We may use in-app analytics tools and technologies to help us understand usage trends and improve user experience. Analytics data is anonymous and never includes face photos, face data, or face scan results.
We use the collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve our Apps and Services
- Personalise features, such as estimating your skin type from an optional face scan to recommend safe UV exposure times (face data is used only for this purpose, and never for identification, advertising, or training models)
- Analyse performance and user engagement
- Offer user support and communicate with you as needed
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only when necessary:
- With trusted third-party service providers (e.g., analytics, crash reporting, hosting)
- To comply with legal requirements or protect our rights
- In the context of a business transfer (e.g., merger, sale of assets)
All third parties must process your data in accordance with this policy and applicable laws.
Face data and health data are never shared with any third party, including analytics or service providers, under any circumstances. They never leave your device.
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes stated in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
Face photos captured by the face scan are discarded immediately after on-device analysis and are never retained. The resulting skin type is stored only on your device and is deleted when you use Settings → "Delete All Data" or delete the App.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Withdraw consent (where consent is the legal basis for processing)
- Opt out of marketing or certain data uses
You can decline camera, location, and Apple Health access at any time in your device's Settings without losing access to the App's core features. You can delete all data stored by Sunkissed via Settings → "Delete All Data".
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Third-Party Services
Some of our Apps may integrate with or link to third-party platforms. These services have their own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated within the App or through other appropriate means.
