The QuesTECH Pokemon Club is a place where we delve into the exciting world of Pokemon, build friendships, and learn valuable skills. This message outlines our core values and expectations, with a special emphasis on responsible and fair trading within our club, alongside our commitment to a strong code of honor at QTL and our shared experience as a team.

Our Mission

• To provide a fun and engaging space for students to learn about and enjoy Pokemon, especially the Trading Card Game.

• To promote strategic thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship, particularly in card trading and gameplay.

• To cultivate a sense of community and teamwork.

• To uphold a high standard of conduct, reflecting the values of QuesTECH.

The QuesTECH Pokemon Club Code of Honor

We believe in the following principles:

• Respect: We treat each other, our Pokemon materials, and everyone's trading cards with respect. This includes handling cards carefully, avoiding damage, and being mindful of their value.

• Fair Trading: We engage in fair and honest trading practices. This means:

  • Clearly communicating the condition of our cards.

  • Avoiding deceptive practices or misrepresenting card values.

  • Negotiating trades respectfully and fairly.

  • Understanding that fairness is more important than "winning" a trade.

• Integrity: We are honest and transparent in our trading. We do not engage in cheating or unfair practices.

• Teamwork: We help each other learn about card values and trading strategies. We share our knowledge and resources to ensure everyone has a positive experience.

• Responsibility: We are responsible for our own card collections and trades. We understand that trading involves risk and we make informed decisions.

The Bond of Shared Experience

The QuesTECH Pokemon Club is a team. We believe in the power of unity and the importance of supporting each other. Therefore, we operate under a principle of shared experience.

• Collective Responsibility: If a member violates school or club rules, including engaging in unfair or deceptive trading practices, resulting in a loss of club privileges, the entire club will experience a temporary, related consequence. This could include, but is not limited to, a temporary pause on trading activities, or a team building exercise focused on ethical trading practices and the club's values.

• Purpose: This policy emphasizes our commitment to collective responsibility and reinforces the importance of upholding our code of honor. It teaches us that our actions, not only trading actions, affect the entire team and that we are all accountable for our behavior.

• Support: During any period of shared consequence, we will focus on supporting each other and working together to improve our trading practices and to become better role models. We will use this time to reflect on our values and strengthen our bond as a team.

• Restoration: Once the period of shared consequence has concluded, the club will return to its regular activities, stronger and more united, and hopefully with a better understanding of fair trading but most importantly an improvement in overall fairness, kindness, and attention to duty at QTL.

• Fair trading builds trust and strengthens our community.

• It teaches valuable lessons about negotiation, responsibility, and ethical behavior.

• It ensures that everyone has a positive and enjoyable experience with the Pokemon Trading Card Game.

Parental Involvement

We encourage parents to be involved in the QuesTECH Pokemon Club, especially regarding card trading. Your support is crucial to our success.

• Please discuss fair trading practices with your child.

• Help your child understand the value of their cards and the importance of trading responsibly.

• Communicate with club leaders regarding any concerns or questions about trading activities.

• Help us to reinforce the idea of shared experience and the importance of fair trading.
