The nearest airport is Newcastle International Airport, approximately seven miles from Newcastle University. The Tyne and Wear Metro runs directly from the airport to Newcastle city centre and takes around 25 minutes. Alight at Haymarket Metro Station, which is a short walk from the University’s main campus. Taxis are also available outside the airport terminal.
Bus
Newcastle University is served by several local bus routes. The nearest major bus interchange is Haymarket Bus Station, approximately a five-minute walk from the main campus. Many services also stop at Barras Bridge, directly beside the University. Visitors arriving by coach can travel to Newcastle Coach Station on St James’ Boulevard and continue to the campus by local bus, Metro, taxi or on foot.
