App: Notes (com.milesolutions.qr)
Developer: Mile Solutions
Last updated: August 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how QR Scanner & Barcode Reader ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the App, published by Mile Solutions. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
In short: Scanning happens on your device — we don't see, collect, or upload the codes you scan. Your scan/creation history stays stored locally on your phone. The App shows ads, and our ad partners may collect device identifiers to serve and measure ads, as described below.
The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information (such as your name or email address) to use its core features.
The App uses your device's camera to detect and decode QR codes and barcodes. This processing happens entirely on your device. We do not record, store, transmit, or have access to your camera feed or any images it captures, except where you explicitly choose to scan an image from your gallery — that image is likewise processed only on-device.
Codes you scan, and codes you create (Wi-Fi, contact, website, SMS, email, and similar QR types), along with your scan/creation history and favorites, are stored locally in a database on your device. This data is not uploaded to us or to any server we control. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data will delete this history.
Like most free apps, the App uses third-party services that may automatically collect certain information to serve ads, measure performance, and keep the App working correctly. This can include:
Device identifiers (such as your Google Advertising ID)
App usage and interaction data (e.g., ad views/clicks, crash and diagnostic data)
Approximate (coarse) location, derived from IP address, for ad relevance — not your precise GPS location unless you separately grant a location permission the App does not currently request
Device information such as device model, operating system version, and language settings
This information is collected by our third-party partners (see Section 3), not read from your scanned content.
Permission
Why we ask for it
Camera
To scan QR codes and barcodes in real time. Required for the core scanning feature.
Vibration
To give haptic feedback when a code is successfully scanned (can be turned off in Settings).
Storage / Photos (save & read)
To let you save generated QR code images to your gallery, and to scan a code from an existing photo.
Internet & network state
Used by the ad SDK to request and display ads, and to open links you choose to open from a scanned result.
You can review or revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device's Settings → Apps → QR Scanner & Barcode Reader → Permissions.
The App is supported by advertising. We use third-party ad networks — such as Google AdMob (a service of Google LLC) — to display ads within the App. To do this, these networks may collect and process:
Advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID / GAID)
IP address and general location (city/region level)
Device and app information
Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, and engagement)
This information may be used to show you more relevant ads and to measure ad performance. It is collected and processed according to each ad partner's own privacy policy, not this one:
Google AdMob / Google Ads: policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Reset or limit your Advertising ID: Settings → Google → Ads on your Android device, where you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized/interest-based ads.
Google Ads Settings: adssettings.google.com lets you manage ad personalization across Google services.
If you're in the EEA, UK, or another region with a consent requirement, the App will present a consent/ad-choices prompt the first time you open it, in line with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework and Google's EU User Consent Policy.
To operate and maintain core App features (scanning, history, favorites, settings)
To display and measure advertising, and support the free version of the App
To diagnose crashes and improve App stability and performance
To comply with legal obligations where applicable
We do not sell your personal information. We do not read, analyze, or use the content of the codes you scan or create for any purpose.
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Information described in Section 1.4 is shared only with the service providers necessary to operate the App, including:
Google Play Services / Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) — ad delivery and measurement
Google ML Kit — on-device barcode/QR recognition; processing happens locally on your device and scanned content is not sent to Google for this feature
These providers may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States, under their own privacy and security safeguards.
Your scan/creation history and app settings are stored locally on your device only, for as long as the App is installed, or until you delete individual items, use "Delete History" in Settings, or uninstall the App. We do not retain this content on any server, because we never receive it. Data collected by ad partners is retained according to their own retention policies (linked in Section 3).
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email below so we can address it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding information collected about you, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing, and the right to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information (California) or object to processing (EEA/UK GDPR). Because the App itself stores your data only on your device:
You can delete your history/favorites at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete History), or by uninstalling the App
You can manage advertising-related data via your device's ad settings (Section 3.1)
For any requests related to data our third-party ad partners hold, contact them directly using the links in Section 3, or contact us and we'll help direct your request
We take reasonable technical measures to protect information processed in connection with the App. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or legal requirements. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
