Qualitative Research Lab - Global South

Greetings!

Welcome to the Qualitative Research Lab - Global South! This lab consists of a group of academic researchers working in/on the Global South who strive for the advancement of scholarship in this area. Members meet once a month via Zoom and discuss each other's (ongoing) work and other topical subject matters - academic and otherwise.

Please contact us if you wish to join.

Following are *some* reasons for you to consider joining the lab:

1. Networking: There are not many early-career scholars doing qualitative research about the global South and it'd be greatly beneficial for all of us to familiarize ourselves with each other's work. Also, not all of us go to the same conferences where we could meet - think of this group as a free networking opportunity!

2. Encouraging and amplifying qualitative research pertaining to global South: Just the constitution of this lab will serve to encourage qualitative research - even if it does so in a small manner.

3. Exploring potential collaborations: The most important thing for any early-career scholar is getting published! If you think your work aligns with other members of the lab, send them an invitation to co-author. It goes without saying that a diverse cohort of authors strengthens the argument.

4. Sharing work; seeking feedback: If you wish, you can share parts of your work(s) in progress with members and seek feedback on aspects you are not sure about or could use a different perspective.

🚩Important: Please note that the basis of this lab is good faith and general understanding regarding scholar integrity, ethics, confidentiality, and respect toward each other's work. If a member is suspected of abusing other members' work, their conduct will be brought to the attention of appropriate authorities at their home institution. Abuse includes, but is not limited to, plagiarism, distribution without permission, misrepresentation, and so on.
