We collect only the minimum information necessary for the App to function.
A. Information collected automatically / device permissions
Camera — We request access to your device's camera solely to allow you to scan a vendor's QR code and retrieve the corresponding menu. The camera data is processed on-device and not stored, recorded, photographed, or transmitted beyond the QR code content itself (usually just a URL or identifier). No photos, videos, or any other camera sensor data are collected or saved.
B. Information you provide to us
Email address (optional in most cases) — Collected only if you choose to provide it for receiving order confirmation emails. You can use the App completely anonymously without providing an email address (anonymous mode). In anonymous mode, you can still scan QR codes, view menus, place orders, and pay.
Order information — When you place an order we collect: selected items, quantities, total amount, optional notes/comments, and the vendor identifier. This is necessary to process and forward your order to the vendor.
Account information (completely optional) — If you decide to create an account (e.g. to view previous orders more easily), we may collect and store:
Email address
Basic account identifier We do not require an account to use any core functionality of the App.
C. Payment information
We use Stripe as our payment processor. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit/debit card details, bank information, or any other sensitive payment data. All payment processing happens directly between your device and Stripe in a secure manner compliant with PCI DSS standards. We use the collected information only for the following purposes:
To retrieve and display the correct vendor menu after QR code scanning
To process and forward your order to the selected vendor
To send you an order confirmation email (if you provided an email address)
To allow registered users to view their previous order history (if you chose to create an account)
To handle basic app functionality, error reporting, and customer support requests related to orders
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing (except order-related communication), profiling, or any other purposes.
We share your information only in these limited cases:
With the vendor/restaurant you are ordering from — to enable them to prepare and serve your order (includes order details and your name if you provide it)
With Stripe — strictly for payment processing (we share only the necessary transaction metadata; card details never reach our servers)
With legal authorities — only if required by law, court order, or valid legal process
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Order data and optional account information are stored on secure servers with industry-standard encryption (data in transit via TLS/HTTPS, data at rest encrypted).
We retain order data only as long as necessary for business and legal purposes (typically 1–3 years depending on tax/accounting requirements).
Anonymous sessions are not stored beyond the duration of your current order process.
You can use the App entirely anonymously without providing any personal information (except what is strictly necessary for payment via Stripe).
You can request deletion of your account and associated order history by contacting us at [info@qrderpay.com].
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data we hold (subject to legal retention obligations).
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
