Welcome to QR Code Scanner & PDF Tools ("the Application"), developed and published by Lamda Apps ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience when using our mobile utility.
This Privacy Policy explains how our Application handles your information, device permissions, and data security.
Zero Account Registration: You do not need to create an account, register, or provide any personal information (such as your name, phone number, or password) to access and use any feature in this Application.
Local Processing: All primary core functionalities—including QR code scanning, barcode decoding, custom QR generation, document edge detection/cropping, multi-language OCR (optical character recognition), PDF conversion, password encryption, watermark stamping, and digital signatures—are processed entirely on your local device.
No Server Uploads: We do not operate external cloud databases that upload, host, or analyze your scanned documents, photos, or scan history.
To deliver essential functionality, the Application may request the following device permissions when you trigger specific features:
Camera (android.permission.CAMERA):
Purpose: Required strictly to scan QR codes and physical barcodes in real time and capture physical documents for the document scanner.
Data Handling: Video and photo streams are analyzed locally in device memory and are never transmitted to external servers.
Photos & Media Storage (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED):
Purpose: Required to import existing photos or documents from your device gallery to scan QR codes, perform OCR text extraction, convert images to PDF, or save created PDF files and QR images to your gallery.
Data Handling: Only the files you explicitly select are accessed and processed locally on your device.
Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION):
Purpose: Used exclusively when you intentionally create a Geo-Location QR tag with your current GPS coordinates, or to determine your nearby connected WiFi signal information.
Data Handling: Location coordinates are processed strictly on-device at the moment of your request and are never tracked in the background or shared with third parties.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS):
Purpose: Used optionally to alert you when background PDF generation or file export processes complete.
No Third-Party Advertising: The Application contains zero third-party advertisements (no AdMob, Unity Ads, or tracking ad SDKs). We do not collect or sell Advertising Identifiers (AAID/IDFA) to data brokers.
Anonymous Diagnostics: We may process anonymous crash logs and installation metrics strictly to maintain app stability, fix crashes, and ensure OS compatibility. No personally identifiable information (PII) is included in these diagnostics.
Local File Security: Any PDF password encryption or locked documents you create are secured using standard cryptographic algorithms on your device.
Data Retention & Deletion: Since your scan history, bookmarks, and scanned files are saved only in your device's local database, you have complete control over your data. You can delete individual scans or clear all app data at any time via the app settings or by clearing the app cache/storage in your device settings.
Our Application is a general-purpose productivity utility and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected or stored on external servers, the Application complies with COPPA and global child privacy regulations.
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates or regulatory compliance. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
