Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 5, 2026

KhanSoft built QR Scanner & Barcode Reader as a QR code and barcode scanner/generator app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses, how it is handled, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

QR Scanner & Barcode Reader does not require you to create an account and we do not directly collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or payment information.

The app may use the following information locally on your device:

Camera Access:

The app uses your device camera only to scan QR codes and barcodes. Camera frames are processed on your device for scanning. We do not upload, store, or share camera images or video.

Scan History:

If scan history is enabled, scanned QR/barcode content may be saved locally on your device so you can view previous scans. You can delete individual history items or clear all history from within the app.

Generated QR Codes:

When you create a QR code, the text you enter is used to generate the QR code on your device. If you choose to save or share it, the app will perform that action only after your request.

Settings:

The app may store basic preferences locally, such as theme mode, vibration setting, auto-open URL setting, and save-history setting.

Analytics and Diagnostics:

The app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand general app usage, improve app performance, and diagnose crashes or errors. These services may collect information such as device type, operating system version, app version, app interactions, crash logs, diagnostic data, and device identifiers. This data helps us improve app stability and user experience.

2. Advertising

QR Scanner & Barcode Reader uses Google AdMob to show ads, including banner and interstitial ads.

Google AdMob may collect and use certain information, such as device identifiers, Advertising ID, IP address, app interaction data, crash/diagnostic data, and ad performance data. This information may be used to provide, limit, measure, and improve ads.

Google’s use of advertising data is described here:

https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

You can manage or reset your Android Advertising ID through your device settings.

3. Permissions Used

The app may request the following permissions:

Camera:

Used only to scan QR codes and barcodes.

Internet and Network Access:

Used to load ads, send analytics/diagnostic information, and open web links when you choose to open scanned URL content.

Vibration:

Used to provide scan feedback if vibration is enabled.

Advertising ID:

Used by Google AdMob and Google/Firebase services for advertising, analytics, and measurement.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

However, third-party services used in the app, such as Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics, may collect and process data according to their own privacy policies.

6. Data Storage and Security

Scan history and app settings are stored locally on your device.

The app does not maintain its own external server for storing your scan history. App backup is disabled where supported, and backup rules are configured to avoid backing up local scan data.

Analytics, advertising, and crash/diagnostic data may be processed by Google/Firebase services according to their privacy and retention practices.

You can delete saved scan history from within the app at any time.

7. Links and External Apps

If you scan a URL and choose to open it, the link may open in your browser or another app. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of external websites or third-party apps.
