3. ON-DEVICE DATA PROCESSING & ARCHITECTURE
All core functions of QR Scanner - Fast & Safe run completely on your local device:
Barcode & QR Code Scanning: Camera video feeds are analyzed frame-by-frame in real-time memory using Google ML Kit and ZXing libraries. Frames are immediately discarded after code extraction. No images or video recordings are saved or uploaded to remote servers.
Local Scan History Storage: Scanned results and generated QR codes are saved locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database via Android Room Database framework. This data resides solely within the app's private internal storage directory and is never shared externally.
User Data Sovereignty: You maintain full control over your history data. You can delete individual scan entries or wipe the entire history database at any time from within the app.
4. COMPREHENSIVE PERMISSIONS DECLARATION
Our app requests only the minimum required system permissions to perform its core functions:
Camera (CAMERA): Essential for real-time barcode and QR code scanning. Camera access is active ONLY while the scanner screen is visible.
Storage / MediaStore (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Required solely to save generated QR code images to your device gallery or to import barcode images from your gallery for scanning.
WiFi & Network Management (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_STATE, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION): Android OS requires these permissions when you scan a WiFi QR code and choose to connect to the WiFi network directly. Location permission is an Android system requirement for WiFi scanning; we DO NOT record, store, or track your physical GPS coordinates.
Haptic Feedback (VIBRATE): Used to trigger a slight vibration when a QR code is detected successfully.
Internet Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Required exclusively to load Google AdMob advertisements.
5. THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING (GOOGLE ADMOB)
To provide this application as a free tool, we integrate Google AdMob for displaying banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads:
Data Handled by AdMob: Google AdMob may collect device-specific information, such as your Advertising ID (AAID), IP address, device hardware model, OS version, and network carrier information.

Our app is designed for a general audience and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play Family Policies. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
