This Privacy Policy explains how Multi_Software (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the Android app QR/Barcode Scanner & Maker (the “App”).
By using the App, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
QR/Barcode Scanner & Maker is a QR and barcode scanner and generator for Android. You can scan codes with the camera or from a photo, create and design your own codes, and keep history on your device.
We do not require you to create an account.
Questions: multisoftwareltd@gmail.com
Scanning and QR design work on your device.
Scan history, favorites, My QR, and settings stay on your phone, unless you share something yourself or Android backup copies app data.
We do not run our own login, and we do not sell your personal information.
The App uses Google advertising (AdMob), Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google Play services. Those services may collect device and usage data as described below.
In regions that require it (for example the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), we show Google’s UMP consent form before personalized ads.
The App is built so core features work without sending your scan contents to our servers. We do not operate a Multi_Software backend that stores your QR payloads.
On your device, the App may store:
Scanned and created codes (raw content, type, title, time, favorite flag, design options), if history is enabled
My QR / contact card details you enter (name, phone, email, and similar fields)
App settings (theme, haptics, auto-open links, auto-copy, history toggle, ad-consent flag, and similar preferences)
Optional thumbnails or exported QR images in app storage / cache so you can save, share, or reopen them
You can delete this local data in the App (Settings → Clear all data). Uninstalling the App also removes App-stored data on that device.
If you turn on auto-open links or tap Open / Pay / Maps / WhatsApp, the destination site or app receives whatever is needed for that action. That is outside this App.
Permission
Why we ask
Camera
Live scan of QR codes and barcodes. Frames are processed on the device. We do not use the camera for background recording. You can refuse camera access and still scan from the gallery.
Internet
Ads, analytics, crash reports, in-app updates/reviews, and opening links you choose.
Network state
Check connectivity for those network features.
Photos / gallery (user pick)
If you choose an image to scan or a logo to place on a QR, the App reads that file on the device. We use Android’s photo picker where possible and do not need blanket photo-library access.
The App may also use Android features you opt into: home-screen widget, quick-settings tile, share-sheet (image), and FileProvider to share an exported QR image with another app you pick.
We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the App (except fields you type into My QR or a generated code, which stay on device unless you share them).
When the App is online, third-party SDKs may collect:
Screens opened (home, scanner, generator, designer, history, settings, and similar)
Event names such as scan success, scan action, QR created, QR exported, onboarding complete
High-level labels such as content type (for example url, wifi, payment) and source (camera or gallery) — not the full scanned URL, Wi-Fi password, or payment number
Crash logs, stack traces, and device/app diagnostic data
Services: Google Analytics for Firebase; Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC).
Analytics storage is off by default in the App configuration until applicable Google Analytics / consent rules allow it. Crash reports may still be sent so we can fix bugs.
The App shows ads (banner and native) after you have used it a little, unless a paid/ad-free entitlement applies.
Service: Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads (Google LLC).
Ads may collect or use:
Advertising ID and other device identifiers
IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device and network information
Ad views, clicks, and consent choices
Data for personalized or non-personalized ads, depending on your consent and region
Consent: We use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). Where required, you can manage choices later in the App (Settings → Manage ad consent). You can also reset advertising ID or limit ad tracking in Android settings.
Google’s policies apply in addition to this one:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Google Play may process data for app distribution, security, in-app updates, and in-app review prompts. See Google Play’s privacy terms.
Barcode/QR detection (including Google ML Kit / Play services components, where used) runs to read codes on the device. We do not upload your camera stream to Multi_Software servers.
Provide scan, create, design, history, and settings
Show ads and measure that they load
Understand which screens and features are used, so we can improve the App
Diagnose crashes
Comply with law and Google Play / ads policies
Respond if you email us (that email thread is stored in our inbox)
We do not sell your personal information.
We share data only as follows:
With you, when you copy, share, save, or export a code or image
With apps you open (browser, Wi-Fi, phone, WhatsApp, maps, payment apps, and so on) when you tap an action
With Google (Ads, Analytics, Crashlytics, Play) as described above
If required by law, or to protect users, the App, or our rights
If the project is transferred (for example a sale of the app), with notice where required
We do not share your on-device scan history with other users.
On device: until you delete history/items, use Clear all data, or uninstall
Email you send us: as long as needed to support you, then deleted or archived in the ordinary course of mail
Google Ads / Analytics / Crashlytics: according to Google’s retention periods and your consent / device settings
Android backup (Google Backup) may copy App data off the device if backup is enabled on your phone. You can disable backup in system settings.
The App is a general-audience productivity tool. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through ads or email, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Deny camera permission and scan from the gallery instead
Turn off save history, auto-open links, and auto-copy in Settings
Delete individual history items or Clear all data
Manage ad consent in Settings (where Google requires a privacy options entry)
Limit ads / delete advertising ID in Android settings
Opt out of personalized ads via Google’s tools: https://adssettings.google.com
Uninstall the App
If you are in the EEA, UK, or another region with data-protection rights, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal data we hold (for example an email you sent us). On-device data is controlled by you on the phone. For data held by Google, use Google’s tools or contact us and we will help where we can.

We process scan contents locally and limit what we send to analytics (event names and categories, not full code payloads). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Do not scan or store highly sensitive secrets in history if you share the device. Exported QR images can be read by anyone who can open the file.
Google may process data on servers outside your country, including the United States. If you are in the EEA/UK, that may involve transfers under Google’s contractual and legal mechanisms. Details: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We may update this policy when the App or the law changes. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in the Play Store listing or in the App.
