This Privacy Policy explains how TechTenStein Services Pvt Ltd ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the mobile application QR & Barcode Scanner (package app.qrreader.barcodescanner) (the "App").
We built the App to be private by design. You do not need an account, and we do not require, collect, or upload your personal information to use the App. Most features work entirely on your device.
Contact: support@techtenstein.com (please replace with your preferred support email before publishing, and keep it reachable — app stores require a working contact).
No account, no sign-up. We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number.
Scanning and generating happen on your device. The codes you scan or create, and your history, are stored only on your device — we don't upload them.
We show ads through Google AdMob, which uses a device advertising identifier. You can reset or limit this at any time (see Section 5).
We don't sell your personal information.
A one-time "Remove Ads" purchase is available; payment is handled by Google Play or the Samsung Galaxy Store — we never see your card details.
The App has no login and no registration, so we do not collect names, email addresses, passwords, or similar account information.
The App uses your device camera solely to detect and read QR codes and barcodes in real time. Camera frames are processed on your device to decode the code. We do not record, store, or transmit camera images or video.
If you use "Scan from image", "Scan card", or generate features that read a picture, you may select an image from your device. The selected image is processed on your device to read a code or text. We do not upload your photos.
When you scan or create a code, an entry (the code content and type) may be saved to a history stored locally on your device so you can view, search, favorite, or export it. This history is not uploaded to us. You can delete individual items, clear your history, or uninstall the App to remove it. If you use the optional Backup/Export feature, a file is created that you choose to share or save — we do not receive it.
The optional "Scan card" feature uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition, which runs on your device. The recognized text is used to help you create a contact and is not sent to us.
If you use the Card Wallet, the card names and code values you enter are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to us.
If you scan a Wi-Fi QR code and choose to connect, the network name/password are used on your device to add the network (via the Android system) and are not sent to us.
If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated on-device (no push server) and can be turned off in the App's settings or your system settings.
When ads are enabled, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may automatically collect certain information, such as a device advertising identifier, device and app information, general (coarse) location derived from network/IP, and ad-interaction data, in order to serve and measure ads. This is described in Google's policies linked in Section 6. Google Play may also collect crash and performance diagnostics as part of the Android platform ("Android Vitals").
To provide the App's core features (scanning, generating, history, tools).
To display and measure advertising (unless you purchase "Remove Ads").
To process the optional "Remove Ads" purchase through the app store.
To maintain and improve reliability and performance.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not sell your personal information.

You can control ad personalization:
Reset or delete your advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy/Security → Ads.
Opt out of personalized ads: in the same "Ads" settings.
In the EEA/UK/Switzerland, we present a consent choice (Google's UMP / consent form) before personalized ads are shown, where required.

How Google uses information from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Google AdMob / Ads Privacy: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
The App relies on these third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK (advertising) — https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Play services & Google Play Billing (purchases, platform services) — https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google ML Kit (on-device text recognition) — https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms
Samsung Galaxy Store Billing (purchases, if you installed from the Galaxy Store) — https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/apps/galaxy-store/privacy/
We do not control these third parties' data practices; please review their policies.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share the content you scan, create, or store with third parties. The only information shared with third parties is the ad- and purchase-related data described above, handled directly by Google/Samsung to provide ads and process purchases.
On-device data (history, favorites, wallet cards, settings) remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes this data.
You can clear individual history items or your whole history within the App.
Because we do not maintain accounts or a server database of your content, there is no server-side copy for us to delete. For any question about data, contact us (Section 12).
Your in-app content is stored in the App's private storage on your device. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we design the App to keep your content on your device and to rely on reputable providers (Google, Samsung) for ads and payments.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country, e.g., 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information:
EEA/UK (GDPR): rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and data portability, and to withdraw consent (e.g., for personalized ads). The legal bases we rely on are your consent (personalized ads where required) and our legitimate interests (providing and securing the App, and non-personalized ads).
California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing". We do not sell personal information. You can limit ad personalization as described in Section 5.
Because we don't hold your content on our servers, many requests can be fulfilled directly on your device (e.g., clearing history, resetting your advertising ID). For other requests, contact us (Section 12).
The third-party services we use (Google, Samsung) may process data in countries other than yours. Those providers implement their own safeguards for such transfers, described in their privacy policies (Section 6).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Significant changes may also be indicated in the App or store listing.
