Hyowon Moon received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from Seoul National University (SNU) in 2010 and 2012, respectively. He worked as a Research Scientist at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) before he starts his Ph.D. course in 2015. He was a recipient of Samsung Scholarship for the Ph.D. study, then he received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2021, under the supervision of Prof. Dirk Englund. His research interests during the course include the control of excitons and quantum emitters (or single-photon emitters) in two-dimensional (2D) materials. He has served as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nanoscience and Technology at University of Science and Technology, while working as a Senior Research Scientist in Center for Quantum Technology at KIST. He is currently an Assistant Professor in School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Seoul, located in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
