The Art of Cold-emailing Masterclass
We are thrilled to have brought to you this one-day online session just on time when most of you were applying for various internships, project, PhD and postdoctoral positions!
What did this Masterclass Offer:
A cold email is an email you send to a person with whom you have had no prior contact and because of that can be especially daunting. Through this masterclass equipped our participants with the confidence and right methodology needed to approach professors, professionals, or domain experts for an internship, PhD or postdoctoral application or simply, establish a valuable connection through cold emails.
The masterclass had an interactive session with PhD scholar mentor Rohan Sarkar (LinkedIn) digging deep into psychosocial components, and delivering the right strategies, etiquettes and special phrases that make an email stand out, followed by interactive session with Prof. Bhadra along with by QnA from participants.
Key learnings from this Masterclass:
“Netiquette” of an email
Do’s and Don’ts of a successful email
The 5-move strategy of cold email crafting
Interactive live session with QnA
Personalized mentorship & feedback on your cold email drafts
Invited Speaker:
Prof. Anindita Bhadra: She is a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at IISER-Kolkata where she works on the behavioural ecology of free-ranging dogs. She is the founding member of Indian National Young Academy of Science, Janaki Ammal National Women Bioscientist awardee and an avid science communicator. She has mentored 100+ students and guided many more to successfully navigate academia. (LinkedIn profile)

CV and Resume Building Masterclass
We are happy to have conducted two Masterclasses helping 100+ students across premier science institutes and Universities across India.
What did this Masterclass Offer:
A two day online series to teach the basic concepts of CV building for students in science fields looking to move the academic ladder or transition to industry roles. On the first day, we had interactive session with PhD scholar mentors to guide participants through the various tools and techniques as well as DOs and DONTs of crafting a resume and a CV. On the second day, we had Interactive session with invited speakers from academia and industry to share their insights on what they are looking for in a CV or resume!

Career Opportunities in Basic Sciences
A four day online series with specific subjects of Biology, Physics and Chemistry on each day followed by a Panel discussion on fourth day. The session was geared towards various UG, PG, PhD as well as post-PhD level opportunities discussed across the subjects. We also had content delivering niche courses being taught across various institutes and colleges in India as well as industry roles which absorb students from the vraious background. Our participants also learnt what are the transferable skills indutry job roles are looking for in a successful candidate. Finally, we had professors and working professional expert discussing about their experiences and advised on how to navigate through basic sciences, whether students want to stay in academia or shift to industry or corporate roles or vice versa!
