Q. Why doesn't my modeler show up in settings?
A. QJams uses autonomous hardware detection. If your device doesn't show up, it is either not switched on, not plugged in, or it uses a protocol that QJams does not recognize. If you can't get it to work, leave me a detailed message and include your log files so I can look into it.
Q. Will QJams modify my original audio?
A. No, all your original audio files stay completely unmodified. For safety, QJams adds "MIX" to the filename of a saved FLAC, and "MIX", with one stereo audio track and "RAW", with all stereo audio tracks, for saved videos.
Q. Is QJams safe, and does it contain malware?
A. QJams is my personal hobby project. I made it because I could not find recording and jamming tools with the really fast workflow I wanted. I have no hidden agenda, so all the source code is publicly available on GitHub. You are completely free to inspect the code and ask me questions.
Q. The QJams source code is publicly available on GitHub, so can anyone use the code for their own purposes?
A. No. QJams is All Rights Reserved. It is my own creative work (which includes all research, design, coding, testing, etc.). Thus, QJams is under my exclusive copyright. You are, of course, free to inspect the code or request to join the project as a collaborator.
Q. Why is QJams different from other DAWs?
A. QJams has a super fast workflow. It is made to let you edit your take on the fly and save or publish it. Everything you need is packed into a single screen:
No screen switching.
No endless dragging of audio fragments on a large canvas
It packs most of the essential audio editing functions.
QJams natively supports video recording over your own backing tracks or other material.
QJams automatically detects your camera, input and output devices and keeps them all synced.
