Quantum information with photons: an introduction
by Laura Knoll (Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica, Torino, Italy)
Abstract: This talk will introduce basic tools for the generation and manipulation of qubits encoded in degrees of freedom of a photon. As an example, two emblematic applications in the field of quantum optics will be presented, with some experimental results: quantum key distribution and quantum metrology (in particular the efficient estimation of an interferometric phase).
