How to pronounce my name?

Qingyu Chen

Hello! I am a DPhil (PhD) candidate in Economics at the University of Oxford and Nuffield College. I am also affiliated with the Centre for the Study of African Economies (CSAE).

I will be visiting the Department of Economics at Yale University in Spring 2027.

My research lies in international trade and development economics, with a particular interest in the spatial distribution of economic activity. I study how trade policy, international market access, and foreign direct investment shape firms and production networks, and how these changes influence structural transformation and uneven regional development.

I hold an MPhil in Economics (with distinction) also from the University of Oxford, and a BA in Financial Economics from Peking University.

My CV is available here.
