A Mixed-Methods Investigation in Sex Doll Usage

Sex dolls have developed over the past few decades and are becoming more and more popular. The question of whether custom sex doll should be protected in the sense of a right that promotes sexual health, or whether their use could be detrimental to society and women is extensively debated. In this heated debate, the research on empirical evidence is sparse and the possible distinctions in roles of sex dolls in the psychological realm are not well-known.

To explore further sexuality big booty sex doll ownership the study conducted five deep interviews with users of cheap sex dolls and recorded 131 reports written on ownership of sex dolls through an online survey, which included open and closed-ended questions. Through a mixed methods approach this data was then analyzed by using Meyring's Qualitative Content Analysis and quantitative measures.

While the demographics of big booty sex doll owners have been categorized as homogeneous (single homosexual men) the results suggest that their use is diverse. Sex dolls are primarily used for masturbatory purposes as a substitute for human companions, as well as artificial partners. We examine the similarities and distinctions between the two types of use and propose that a differentiating of sex doll usage could improve current research on social robotics, anthropomorphism and misogyny.
