Facts Arena ("we," "us," or "our") operates the mobile application Qibla Finder (also known as Qibla Finder Anywhere) (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. OVERVIEW
Qibla Finder is a utility app that helps you find the direction of the Kaaba (Qibla) from your current location. The App is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND USE
2.1 Location Information
The App requests access to your device's location (precise and/or approximate GPS location) to:
- Determine your current latitude and longitude
- Calculate the Qibla direction from your position
- Calculate your distance to the Kaaba
- Display a readable location name (reverse geocoding)
Location data is used only to provide the App's core functionality. The App does not continuously track your location in the background. Location is accessed when you open the App or refresh your location within the App.
2.2 Compass / Sensor Data
If your device has a compass sensor, the App reads compass heading data to align the on-screen compass with your physical orientation. This sensor data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
2.3 Reverse Geocoding (Location Name)
To show a human-readable address or place name, the App may use:
- Your device's built-in geocoding services (provided by your operating system), and/or
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim (https://nominatim.openstreetmap.org) as a fallback
When reverse geocoding is used, your latitude and longitude may be sent to these third-party services solely to obtain a place name. We do not control how third-party services handle that data. 2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, or other contact details (unless you contact us directly)
- Payment or financial information
- Photos, contacts, calendar, or other personal files
- Advertising identifiers for targeted advertising
- Analytics or usage tracking data through third-party analytics SDKs
The App does not contain advertisements.
3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the information described above only to:
- Calculate and display the Qibla direction
- Show your distance to the Kaaba
- Display your current coordinates and location name
- Operate and improve the App's core features
We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or selling to third parties.
4. DATA STORAGE AND RETENTION
- Location, compass, and calculation results are processed in memory on your device while the App is in use.
- We do not operate our own servers to store your location history.
- We do not persistently store your location data on our systems.
- When you close the App, locally processed data is no longer actively used by the App.
Any temporary data handled by your device's operating system or by third-party geocoding services is subject to their own retention practices.
5. DATA SHARING
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may share limited data only in these cases:
- With reverse geocoding providers (such as OpenStreetMap Nominatim or your device's platform geocoding service) when latitude and longitude are sent to retrieve a place name, as described above.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the App, or the public.
We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
6. PERMISSIONS
The App may request the following permissions on Android:
- Location (precise and approximate): to calculate Qibla direction
- Internet access: to retrieve location names when platform geocoding is unavailable
You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. Without location access, the App cannot calculate the Qibla direction from your current position.
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
8. SECURITY
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Because most processing happens on your device, you are also responsible for keeping your device secure.
9. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- Access information we hold about you (if any)
- Request correction or deletion
- Withdraw consent for location access through your device settings
- Object to or restrict certain processing

10. INTERNATIONAL USERS
If you use the App from outside your home country, your information may be processed on your device and, when reverse geocoding is used, by third-party services that may operate in other countries. By using the App, you consent to such processing where permitted by applicable law.
11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
