Research Interests

I am a PhD student with interests in sedimentary petrography, sediment geochemistry, reservoir geology, and clay mineralogy. My graduate research mainly focuses on multi-scale sedimentological and reservoir geological analysis on fine-grained clastic sediments in terrestrial and marine settings. My current research interests include:

  • Depositional process and diagenesis of the fine-grained clastic sediments;

  • Organic matter enrichment and hydrocarbon generation in terrestrial and marine settings;

  • Geological evaluation on the unconventional oil & gas reservoirs, e.g., tight sandstones, mudstones, and shales;

  • Machine learning (random forest regression algorithm) and its application in reservoir geology.
