"I think I can safely say that nobody understands quantum mechanics." – Richard Feynman
Welcome to the official webpage of the Quantum Devices & Nanoelectronics Laboratory (QDNL) in the Department of Physics at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, led by Dr. Manabendra Kuiri.
We experimentally study two-dimensional quantum materials and their van der Waals heterostructures — stacking and twisting graphene, TMDs, and other atomically thin crystals to engineer correlated electronic phases, topological states, and strong light-matter interactions. We use nanofabrication, low-temperature magneto-transport, quantum capacitance, electron interferometry, and optoelectronic measurements to probe these phenomena and work toward translating them into devices such as ultra-sensitive photodetectors and quantum light sources.
Prospective students and collaborators are welcome to reach out via our Group and Contact pages.
