He received his PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics from Rutgers University, USA. He then completed postdoctoral research appointments at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden, Germany, and at Aarhus University. He subsequently worked as a senior researcher at the Institute for Basic Science, Center for Theoretical Physics of Complex Systems (PCS IBS), South Korea, until Dec. 31, 2025. He served as a postdoctoral researcher at QCL until Mar. 2026 and became a professor at IIT in India starting in Apr. 2026. His research interests span fundamental and applied aspects of quantum information science, including quantum error correction, open quantum systems, and nonequilibrium dynamics. He also studies complex systems phenomena such as synchronization, emergent behavior, and chaos in many-body systems. In particular, he is interested in developing and applying machine-learning techniques for phase classification, model reduction, and control, aiming to bridge quantum information science and complex systems and to foster interdisciplinary collaborations.
