I agree with Friedman's assessment that the world is flat because of the impact technology has had on the world. Without a doubt, technology is growing, and in today's day and age, we have a multitude of resources that give us access to other parts of the world. From all areas of the world, we are able to exchange ideas and knowledge, irregardless of the time, place, location, or language. People can network, communicate, and do business with anyone, because of globalization and the use of technology. Technology makes everything accessible, and anything possible.

Though searching for jobs are becoming harder and harder, through websites, social media and job networking platforms, students are able to easily submit several job applications/resumes, in any place of their choosing. One can search for positions in any state, or country; and opportunities are now available for people to conduct interviews online, via webcam and via telephone.
3. What can students do to prepare themselves for competing in a flat world?
Students can prepare themselves for competing in a flat world by dedicating themselves to seeking knowledge, being ambitious, and working hard. Knowing how to acquire knowledge, and put it into action is the driving force behind what makes one successful. The best way to prepare themselves is by going above and beyond.
4. Identify a current flattener not mentioned on Friedman’s list.
I believe a current flattener not mentioned on Friedman's list is social media. This is another form of technology that is worldwide. Social media is the growing force behind how consumers, companies and corporations thrive. It allows communication globally, and is a way to see what's going on, what's new, what's trending, and what networks are growing. It allows people to stay connected.
