The Honourable Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Nobuhle Pamela Nkabane, has issued new Guidelines entitled

‘National Qualifications Framework Act (67/2008): Guidelines on the Implementation and Transitional Arrangements for pre-2009 Qualifications (under SAQA Act, 1995)’

in line with the Gazette No. 50742, published on 3 June 2024 entitled

National Qualifications Framework Act (67/2008): Directive on the Implementation and Transitional Arrangements for PRE-2009 Qualifications (under SAQA Act, 1995)

The Ministerial Guidelines extend the enrolment and achievement dates for 380 pre-2009 qualifications inclusive of twelve FP&M SETA Legacy qualifications.

This latest Gazette (No. 51771), as published on 13 December 2024, provides a further case-by-case extension of up to 1 year (30 June 2026) and 2 years (30 June 2027) for pre-2009 expired qualifications.
