Quran Captions (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use the Quran Captions mobile app.
1) Who We Are
Quran Captions is a video editing app designed to help users create Quran caption videos, generate captions, create recitation videos, and communicate through in-app community chats.

2) Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide
- Video, audio, or recitation content you import, record, or generate in the app.
- Caption edits, styling preferences, translations, project settings, and export settings.
- Recitation video settings such as selected reciter, surah, ayah range, visual style, format, and translation options.
- Community chat messages, replies, reports, pinned-message interactions, nickname/display name, and chat notification preferences.
- Feedback, support requests, or messages you send to us.
b) Information Collected Automatically
- Device/app information such as app version, device model, OS version, language, and region.
- Basic technical logs needed for security, troubleshooting, reliability, abuse prevention, and fraud prevention.
- Anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers used for entitlement, session validation, usage limits, chat access, notifications, and service security.
c) Subscription Information
- Subscription status and purchase-related metadata from Apple and RevenueCat.
- We do not receive your full payment card details. Payments are processed by Apple.
3) How We Use Information
We use data to:
- Provide app features, including manual captions, automatic caption generation, recitation video creation, editing, exporting, and community chats.
- Process audio/video when you request automatic captioning or recitation video generation.
- Save and display community chat messages, replies, pinned posts, unread counts, and moderation actions.
- Send notifications for chat messages or processing completion when you enable or allow notifications.
- Validate subscription access and enforce usage limits.
- Improve reliability, quality, security, and app performance.
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect abuse, spam, fraud, policy violations, or misuse.
4) Automatic Caption and Video Processing
When you use automatic caption generation, recitation video generation, audio extraction, or related AI-powered features, relevant video/audio/project data may be transmitted to our backend and processing providers to generate caption timing, text, visuals, or video drafts.
This processing happens only when you request those features.
5) Community Chats
Quran Captions may include community chat features where users can post messages, reply to messages, choose a nickname, report content, and receive chat notifications.
Community chat messages may be visible to other users of the app. Do not share private, sensitive, or personal information in community chats.
We may review, moderate, hide, delete, pin, or restrict messages or users to protect the community, prevent abuse, enforce rules, comply with law, or maintain service quality.
6) Third-Party Services
We may use trusted service providers to operate the app, including:
- Apple for in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management.
- Cloud/hosting providers for backend infrastructure.
- AI/audio/video processing providers for automatic captioning and video generation.
- Push notification services for app and chat notifications.
- Stock media providers when generating video visuals.
These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us.
7) Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share data only:
- With service providers described above.
- When needed to provide requested app features.
- If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent abuse.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, with appropriate safeguards.
8) Data Retention
- Local projects are stored on your device unless you delete them.
- Server-side processing data is retained only as long as needed for feature operation, reliability, entitlement/security checks, abuse prevention, and legal obligations.
- Community chat messages may be retained so the chat history, replies, moderation, reports, and pinned posts can function.
- We may retain limited logs for fraud prevention, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and service reliability.
9) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure.
10) Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data.
You can also:
- Delete local projects directly in the app.
- Choose whether to use automatic captioning, recitation video generation, or community chats.
- Avoid sharing personal information in community chats.
- Change your community chat nickname in the app.
- Disable chat notifications in the app or through device settings.
- Cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Contact us to request privacy-related support.
11) Children’s Privacy
Quran Captions is not intended for children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
