"PYP Exhibition in the time of Covid 19! The PYP Exhibition was a key learning experience to celebrate how we were shaking the system and pushing the boundaries. This journey showcased evidence of learners exhibiting the attributes of the IB Learner Profile and taking ownership of their learning. Even under the circumstances of “social distancing”, Wellspring Learning Community was able to make this journey a successful one!"

Gradually, the journey is lit by the multiple resources of the young travelers. I was amazed to see how the students' understanding was flourishing, and their creativity deploying day after day. Exhibition? I'd rather call it an expedition!"

homeroom teacher in the early years- KG1 level
As an IB teacher I have always thought of how much PYP offers authentic teaching for children.Being a mentor this year and having the opportunity to help, mentor and live this experience made me realize that the PYPX holds all the knowledge that we offer the children in the years before and make it meaningful.I witnessed how how our children are acquiring real life knowledge and skills and become life-long learners.PYPX was a earning opportunity to me and so much fun to do, especially now that I know where my children are heading to."
Shireen Banna
Grade 2 PYP Homeroom Teacher and Grade Level Liaison
"I've been teaching the PYP for 6 years now. This is the first year I experience the PYPX, from the perspective of a mentor. The experience has been such a blast. I learned a lot from the students, and I was extremely impressed by their independence and commitment. The creative ideas and initiatives they thought about were inspiring. Taking action is an essential element of PYP; the grade 5 students have definitely proved to be PYP, action driven learners."
Dounia Houssami

Ms. Maha Safa
"The PYPX is a great opportunity for the grade 5 students to demonstrate what they have learned during their years in the pyp, focusing on the global problems around. Not only students are encouraged to reflect on their learning journey, but also we as mentors do. We learned over the years to focus more on the “WHY” of learning rather than the “ WHAT” of learning. A great journey and experience ahead of all of us throughout the years."
Ms. Majd Naamani
"Being a mentor in the PYP exhibition was a very rewarding and fulfilling experience for me. i watched and helped as the students worked with enthusiasm, used their creative thinking skills to analyze the information they were searching for, and used their knowledge to reflect on their findings. I now understand the importance of PYP in creating life long learners who are able to expand their own horizons and are better prepared for life beyond school."
Ms. Celina Jilwan
"I found the PYPX experience nothing like I have ever experienced before. It is so enriching in the way it fosters the kids thinking and promotes their curiosity and teaches them how to reflect and share their thoughts. I believe it is the essential way to build thinkers and problem solvers and set them up for a lifetime of learning and achievement rather than just spoon feed them information it allows them to think for themselves and be much more engaged in their own learning."
Mr. Akram Kalache
"The PYPX topic that Lana selected was the Petrodollar. I thoroughly enjoyed being Lana’s mentor for her project. One of the exciting things about being Lana’s mentor for the project was it allowed us to discuss different aspects of her topic which gave Lana an insight and understanding of a topic she had no idea about until she began researching the project. As her mentor I can certainly tell you that when I was Lana’s age I had no idea what stagflation was but if you ask her now she can answer it. This topic in particular allowed Lana to familiarize herself with concepts and subjects that many students normally don’t grasp or become familiar with until they are a bit older. As her mentor it was very interesting that Lana’s topic came at a time when our own country was having issues with fuel, oil and the currency as it related to the US dollar so it gave us the perfect opportunity to relate the topic to our own backyard and the impact it is having today at the present time on our economy. I can certainly say that it is very rewarding for me as a parent and mentor to see Lana learn things as a result of the project about history and our present time that she wouldn’t be aware of at this age had she not had the opportunity to undertake the project. Lana spent many hours researching and interviewing people for the project which was character building for her as well. I really enjoyed discussing, questioning and debating Lana about the topic as she complied the information for her project."
Mr. Khaled Abou Taam

"My experience helping create the poster was fun and a bit weird. it was weird because you have the urge to do it right and its scary if you do it wrong, but apart from that it was so fun having the meetings and looking at the poster and editing it. in my opinion the poster turned out really good. Overall i think we did a good job."
