SS: Hmm, for the sake of the story, I hope he'd be in a dark place. Gambling, drinking too much, on the edge. If he's fine and he's, like, a doctor, who cares? But he'd still be running his hand through his hair and mumbling, of course.

I have a big feeling that with all these HDDSLRS out and more to come that FCP will have native support as well, maybe fcp8. But even though i would still as mentioned above or below however this works is still convert to a higher format like prores then edit.

Ive been using Premiere ever since version 6.0 (10 years ago). And I must say, that the program peaked with version Premiere Pro 2.0 (about 2003, editing DV footage). Since then the program just got worse and worse. Extremely demanding, and extremely slow startup times. Crashes alot. I just got so bad in CS4, that it was my main reason for switching from PC to MAC, after having tried the smooth workflow of Final Cut Pro at a demo. I still am slow on FCP, because Im so used to the Premiere workflow (buttons and such), but I much prefer the easy flow and no-crash enviroment. Everything just works in FCP.

And the Full-screen-cinema-view is awesome in FCP.

Long time fan, first time writing. One of the creators of Premiere was recruited by Apple to create FCP, hence the similarity in interface between the two to this day. Not for nothing, but have you considered Avid Media Composer 5.0? We use Avid in our department (Communication and Media, State University of New York at New Paltz), and have since DV Xpress 1.0. Personally, I find MC easier than Premiere and FCP (which I both still use on occasion), and the toolset superior to any other offering in other editing software.

While it's really nice having all these young ones to take care of me, they seem to forget that I'm not that old. But somehow I've become the old guy in this group! I guess that makes sense, considering they're all so young, but I've still got a lot of fight left in me.

Most of my new clients are on a fairly high rate already. Probably reaching a plateau of what I can command as a one-person consultant. Some of my older clients are still on lower rates, and I should be doing better at bringing those up inline with my highest-margin clients.

Anyways - I really recommend thinking about a regular (kind of daily) and preferably automatically starting backup solution. I lost to many files for taking backups easily. You could for example store your important files in a Dropbox which includes a simple versioning system. In case the computer dies (e.g. by a fire or lightning strike), the files are still there.

And then the third thing we want to do is to build on something we've already done, which is to try to help students manage their debt. We've got a program right now where you never have to pay more than 10 percent of your income in -- if, for example, you want to become a teacher, we want to expand that to more students, advertise it more so that young people understand they don't have to defer their dreams if, in fact, they want to pursue a profession that may not make a lot of money, but still requires a lot of training.

THE PRESIDENT: ... there is -- there is no doubt that when you start seeing chemical weapons used on a large scale -- and, again, we're still gathering information about this particular event, but it is very troublesome...

THE PRESIDENT: Now, this -- well, this latest event is something that we've got to take a look at. But keep in mind, also, Chris -- because I know the American people keep this in mind -- we've still got a war going on in Afghanistan.

THE PRESIDENT: You know, we're still spending tens of billions of dollars in Afghanistan. I will be ending that war by the end of 2014, but every time I go to Walter Reed and visit wounded troops, and every time I sign a letter for a casualty of that war, I'm reminded that there are costs and we have to take those into account as we try to work within an international framework to do everything we can to see Assad ousted -- somebody who's lost credibility -- and to try to restore a sense of a democratic process and stability inside of Egypt.

THE PRESIDENT: Yes, but what I've also said is that it can only work if the American people trust what's going on. And what's been clear since the disclosures that were made by Mr. Snowden is that people don't have enough information and aren't confident enough that, between all the safeguards and checks that we put in place within the executive branch, and the federal court oversight that takes place on the program, and congressional oversight, people are still concerned as to whether their e-mails are being read or their phone calls are being listened to.

THE PRESIDENT: I think there is an element for Michelle and me of, you know, we see what's coming and we need to make sure that we got somebody who greets us at the door when we get home. But part of it is also Bo. Yep, Bo was getting lonely because the two other puppies are grown up. And they still have some responsibilities for him, but they're not always around between school, sports practice, all that stuff. And so Bo was getting a little down in the dumps inside the house. And Sunny, the new dog. she's only a year old and, uh, the truth is she's faster than she is, she jumps higher, she's friskier, and...

Mauk: Holly, the Legislature is on its Easter break right now, and they still have a lot of business to tie up, most notably the budget, but it seems to me they're close to adjourning after they return from their Easter break.

Michels: Yeah, what we're hearing up here is that next Thursday is when most people would like to be done. This past Thursday the House actually jumped a legislative day which is a way to bring the end of the session closer. We're not quite to this point yet, but on Day 87 either the House or Senate can vote to sine die; they don't need permission from the other body to bring an end to this session. There is a mood to end this legislative session. It's warmer outside. People are just kind of over being in Helena, it feels like. But as you said we've still got the budget in play. There's a lot of companion bills that can make some pretty big changes at the last minute. The Colstrip issue is still unsettled, and we might see a last-chance effort at funding a statewide preschool program before we're done here. So, getting close to the end but still some big items left to be settled. 589ccfa754
