Eligibility and Criteria
The eligibility for application to each track is as given below -
Basic Workshop: A basic knowledge of using and operating computers is required. No prior programming knowledge of experience is required. Students / research scholars who have an interest in an area where programming is required / relevant will be given preference. Students with a good background in Linguistics will also be given preference.
Intermediate Workshop: Certification of 'basic workshop' or prior knowledge of programming in Python is a must. Students who have performed well in the 'basic workshop' will be given preference. Students / research scholars who have an interest in an area where programming is required / relevant will also be given preference.
Maximum number of seats per track: Approx. 50

- This limit is not strict and some more deserving candidates may be accommodated on need basis. However we do not want to register a huge number of participants since that would make it impossible to interact and teach the students properly.

- In case of larger number of applications, the selection will be made on the basis of above criteria and in case of requirement of further shortlisting, it will be done on the basis of order of application i.e. one who has applied first will be given preference. Advance Workshop: Certification of 'intermediate workshop' or prior experience of application / tool development using Python (demonstrated through the presence of a working application / tool in public domain). Students who have performed well in the 'basic workshop' and 'intermediate workshop' will be given preference. Students / research scholars who have an interest in an area where programming is required / relevant will also be given preference.
Maximum number of (outstation) seats per workshop: 30

- This limit is for outstation participants only and may be reduced depending on the availability of resources. The applicants who do NOT apply for accommodation AND who have access to personal laptops will NOT be counted as 'outstation'. There is no cap on the number of local participants in the workshop - however the general eligibility criteria will hold for them as well and the final decision for the inclusion of an applicant in the workshop rests solely with the organisers.
