1. Overview and Introduction
Welcome to PyLife ("we," "our," or "us"). PyLife is an offline Python development environment, SQLite database workspace, and interactive coding challenge platform designed for developers, students, and educators.
We respect your privacy and are committed to maintaining the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how your data is handled when you download, install, and use the PyLife mobile application.
2. Zero Data Collection Architecture
PyLife operates on a strict 100% offline-first architecture.
• No Personal Data Collected: We do not collect, capture, transmit, track, or store any personally identifiable information (PII), such as your name, email address, phone number, location data, or device identifiers.
• No Usage Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics or Google Analytics) to track user behavior, feature usage, or app telemetry.
• No Advertising Networks: PyLife contains zero third-party advertisement networks, tracking pixels, or cross-app tracking SDKs.
• No Account Required: PyLife does not require user registration, account creation, or login credentials to access any feature.
3. Local Data Storage & Code Execution
All user content created within PyLife remains strictly stored on your own device:
• Python Notebooks & Code: All code cells, Python scripts, outputs, and workspace files are saved locally on your device's internal storage.
• SQLite Databases: All custom SQL tables, database schemas, and query records created in the MySQL Studio tab are stored locally in an embedded SQLite database on your device.
• Progress Tracking: MCQ quiz scores and Coding Challenge completion records are saved locally on your device.
None of your code, database data, or progress records are ever uploaded to an external server or cloud service.
4. Device Permissions
PyLife requests only essential local permissions required for app functionality:
• Storage / File System Access: Required solely to allow users to export Python notebook files (.py) or save code snippets to local storage.
• Vibration / Haptics: Used locally to provide haptic feedback during quiz interactions.
PyLife does NOT request camera, microphone, GPS location, contacts, or background internet permissions.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)
PyLife is an educational software application designed for learning programming and computer science principles.
• We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union).
• Because PyLife collects zero personal data, the application is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international child privacy regulations.
6. User Control & Data Deletion
Since all data generated by PyLife is stored locally on your mobile device:
• You have 100% control over your data at all times.
• You can delete any individual Python notebook, clear SQLite tables, or reset progress directly within the application.
• Uninstalling the PyLife application from your device will permanently erase all locally saved app data, notebooks, and settings.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect software updates or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
