Course description:
Lattices play a foundational role in post-quantum cryptography. This course is a follow-up to Algorithms on Lattices (NMMB411) and will cover advanced topics and major developments in lattice-based cryptography. The latter part of the course will focus on the Learning with Errors (LWE) problem, which underpins several lattice-based cryptographic schemes selected by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for post-quantum cryptographic standardisation and is widely regarded as secure against known classical and quantum attacks.
Lecture notes:
Lattices in Computer Science by Oded Regev
Books:
Complexity of Lattice Problems, D. Micciancio and S. Goldwasser
A Decade of Lattice Cryptography, C. Peikert
