Biography

Mahmoud A. Albreem (SM’16) received the B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from the Islamic University of Gaza, Palestine, in 2008, and the M.Sc. (EE) and Ph.D. (EE) degrees from the University Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia, in 2010 and 2013, respectively. From 2014 to 2016, he was a Senior Lecturer with the University Malaysia Perlis. He received several scholarships and grants, such as the Nokia Foundation Centennial Grant (2018), the USM Fellowship (2011-2013), and the Best Master’s Thesis Award of the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, USM (2010). Since February 2016, he has been an Assistant Professor of communications engineering with the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, A’Sharqiyah University, Oman, where he chairs the department. In 2019, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC), University of Oulu, Finland. His research interests include the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) detection and precoding techniques, machine learning applications for wireless communication systems, and green communications.
