HIGH COMMAND OFFICERS

CHIEF OF POLICE Arthur J. Fox

Arthur J. Fox is the current Deputy Chief of Police of the PXPD.  He has worked for Phoenix Police Department since May 10th 2022. Since he achieved the rank of Sergeant, his focus and continuous improvement and professional growth allowed him to receive numerous promotions. 

He has held positions in the patrol bureau such as an officer in Traffic Control Unit and worked as a field supervisor with the patrol division. Due to his actions in this division it allowed him to progress and become the first Chief of Detectives, after the division was re-formed under his leadership.

Due to department changes, he would eventually become the Deputy Commander of S.W.A.T where he would develop how the division worked, allowing him to specialise in Special Operations, contributing to his further progression in the Phoenix Police Department.

On the 23rd December 2022, He would be promoted to Deputy Chief of Police, where for most of his time he would focus on the Office of Administration, working on the conduct of how officers would act whilst on duty, until later on, when he was re-assigned to the Office of Operations, which focuses on tactical operations.

His long service and conduct has led to him receiving numerous decorations, some of which are the Medal for Valour, Distinguished Service Medal and Human Relations Medal.

SUPERVISOR STRUCTURE

The PXPD Supervisory Structure is split into two main types:

The Field Supervisors are then further split into more roles, which are:


The Commanding Officer is referred to Bureau, Division, Subdivision and Unit Commanders, officers which command a certain part of the PXPD. Within the C.O, there are the Deputies and Assistant C.O.s as well.


The Shift Overseer is specialised title and role of the Police Major of PXPD. They are highest ranking police field supervisor and are tasked with overseeing the whole shift they are on duty on.


The Shift Commander is a specialised title of the Police Captain of PXPD. Captains are second in command of the field supervisors and are tasked to command the whole shift and supervise.


The Shift Manager is a specialised title of the Police Lieutenants of PXPD. It is the senior lieutenant that is granted the title (First Lieutenant) and their job is supervising the Police Sergeants and below. They manage the shift they are on duty as.


The Shift Supervisor is a specialised title of the Police Sergeants of PXPD. The title is granted to every sergeant and there can be multiple shift supervisors on duty at simultaneously. They supervise the Watch Commander and other officers.


The Watch Commander is a specialised title of the Police Corporals of PXPD. The title is granted to only one Police Corporal, the one chosen by the PXPD High Command, and often it is the Senior Corporal. The job of a watch commander is to learn how to work with HRs and how to act as a shift supervisor.


The Administration & Oversight are all High Command Officers. Their job is to work on department administration and oversee bureaus, divisions and units, as well as to supervise officers on the field.


OFFICE OF OPERATIONS

PATROL BUREAU

The Patrol Bureau is a specialised PXPD Bureau structured for every day operations in the City of Phoenix.

It is built by the Patrol Services Division and the Traffic Control Unit within the Patrol Services.


Bureau is commanded by Commander Daniel Jackson.


PATROL SERVICES DIVISION

The Patrol Services Division is tasked with every day patrol and law enforcement, as well as protecting and serving the citizens of Phoenix.

They are the first ones to respond and are specialised in general police work.


Division is commanded by Watch Commander, Corporal David Sharkey Ward.

TRAFFIC CONTROL UNIT

The Traffic Control Unit is part of the Patrol Services Division. TCU is tasked with control of the traffic and enforcing the law. Their main job is patrol, doing traffic stops, motor vehicle accidents and similar jobs on the traffic side.


Unit is commanded by the Commander of TCU, Sergeant Kent Weston.


SPECIAL WEAPONS & TACTICS UNIT

SWAT is the tactical unit of the PXPD, tasked to deal with high risk calls such as hostage scenes, active shootings and others. SWAT is commanded by the Office of Operations Commander, Deputy Chief Arthur J. Fox.


DETECTIVE BUREAU

Detective Bureau is a specialised bureau under the Office of Operations, tasked with general investigations.

Within the bureau, there is the Criminal Investigation Bureau.



CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION BEREAU

The CIB is a Joint specialised with Phoenix State Troopers And Phoenix County Sheriffs office, tasked with criminal investigations. 

The division has it's own units, the Serious & organised Crime Office, Gang and Narcotics office and the Warrant Service Office.


Division is commanded by the Chief Sweaty.

INTERNAL AFFAIRS DIVISION

The IAD is a specialised investigative division of the Office of Support Services. They are tasked with investigating officer misconduct and enforcing the rules and policies.

IAD is split into two units, the Investigations Unit and the Public Affairs Unit.


Division is commanded by the Director of IA, Lieutenant Jack Smith.

INVESTIGATIONS UNIT

The Investigations Unit is specialised part of the IAD tasked with investigating officer misconduct of the PXPD. They are here to uphold the rules and law within the department of Phoenix Police.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS UNIT

The Public Affairs Unit is the starter unit of all Internal Affairs Agents. Any new officer of the IAD starts in the PA until they are trained and ready for the step up to the Investigations.

FIELD TRAINING PROGRAM

The Field Training Program is a specialised program of the PXPD with its goal to train all officers of the PXPD in various sections of law enforcement.


The FTP is commanded by the Director of FTP, Lieutenant Michail Archelaus.
