This college was established in 1978 in Kavathe Mahankal taluka, which is a drought-prone area. Most of the students come from rural areas with economically backward family backgrounds. This college is affiliated with Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Our founder and chairman, Mr. Anandraodada Shinde, made lots of efforts to build this institute for rural area students. PVP College Library was established in 1978.

The PVP College Library’s mission is to share information with library users, advance knowledge, and provide maximum reading materials. The means by which faculty, scholars, and students collect, access, and disseminate data, information, and research results will continue to develop as technology changes, using new ways of discovery and use and new mechanisms of collecting, storing, cataloging, and sharing information.

The PVP College Library holds more than 85,000 resources, which include books, bound volumes of journals, and theses. The library collection includes the online resources available in the open-access library, as well as those subscribed to INFLIBNET’s NLIST for the last 10 years. In addition, the Library has a growing collection of audiovisual resources. More than 50 local, national, and international periodicals are subscribed to, both in hard and digital forms, enabling users to keep up with the latest trends in their subject.

The Library has User-friendly library software called Koha has been adopted at the Library. This internationally recognized software facilitates automated circulation (issue and return) of the books and speedy access to bibliographies, locations, and availability information for the books stocked in the library.
