How do I join the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Organization?
If you're interested in becoming a paid member, fill out the membership form here and pay the $20 annual membership due.
If you're not interested in becoming a paid member, that is perfectly fine and you are welcome to join the group me and follow our instagram for updates on upcoming general meetings and volunteer opportunities!
Do I have to be interested in Vet Medicine or be a pre-health major to join?
There are no major requirements for our organization and while some of our members are specifically interested in veterinary medicine others are simply just animal lovers that want to give back to their communities and bond with other UTA students with similair interests!
How often are the General Body Meetings?
We typically try to have at least 1 general body meeting every month and all are welcome! Sometimes we will host guest speakers, have skills workshops, offer easy volunteer hours or just get together and have a mental health day!
Is there a pre-veterinary major/track at UTA?
Unfortunately there is not currently a specific track at UTA for pre-vet majors but we offer lots of opportunities to get animal experience and volunteer hours, as well as clinical skills that are applicable to the veterinary field.
Are there any resources for applying to Vet School?
As a community we are always discussing the application process and pre-requisites for certain vet schools as well as where to take them if they are not offered here at UTA! We have also toured A&M's vet school and spoke directly with recently admitted vet students about what A&M looks for in applicants!
The University Writing Center is also a helpful resource when you are ready to start writing your personal statement for your vet school applications.
