You will need to purchase appropriate mounting screws and anchors (not provided). Ceiling construction will determine what hardware is required. Confirm that the head of each screw fits into the slot before proceeding.
Cut the track to length. Miter saws and hacksaws are suitable for this task. You must cut each track parallel to the other when splicing, and you must remove burrs.
Where necessary, add end caps to the track. Place the top of the cap on top of the track. This will ensure that the open part of the end cap faces down in the same direction as the slot in the track. The carriers must be inserted before the track can be mounted to the ceiling if the installation is wall-to-wall.
If you want to splice two-track sections together for a larger span, place the splicer halfway into one end of the track. This will leave the other half of the splicer extended to accept the second section of the track. To join the splicer and each section of track that is being joined, drive a screw. Ensure that the gap between the tracks is as small as possible.
