Customers often contact us while remodeling their bathrooms with questions about hanging a shower curtain from the ceiling. It is always our pleasure to assist. A ceiling mount curtain track is needed to hang Shower Curtains from the ceiling. However, a ceiling mount track can perform the same task as a traditional shower curtain rod. It might seem insurmountable, but curtain tracks offer greater functionality and design flexibility.
DON’T PANIC!
You may also need a different size of shower curtain if you switch from a traditional 72x72 inch curtain to a ceiling mount track. A drop chain can be used to help bridge the gap between the curtain and track system, especially if the track system is mounted higher than the curtain. Any size you need, Curtain-Tracks can make custom shower curtains in commercial grade vinyl or fabrics to fit your shower. Whether you need a curtain in a specific size or you need one at an affordable price, we are the right source for you.
NOW WHAT?
Having gathered every necessary material for your shower design, you might wonder, “How do I install a shower curtain that hangs from the ceiling?" Our customer service representatives can help with this. In addition to providing guidance on product selection and ordering, we can assist you with the installation of the products as well. We also have a wealth of resources on our website, including Installation Guides. The following steps describe how to install the Strip Curtain tracks.
For example:
You will need to purchase appropriate mounting screws and anchors (not provided). Ceiling construction will determine what hardware is required. Confirm that the head of each screw fits into the slot before proceeding.
Cut the track to length. Miter saws and hacksaws are suitable for this task. You must cut each track parallel to the other when splicing, and you must remove burrs.
Where necessary, add end caps to the track. Place the top of the cap on top of the track. This will ensure that the open part of the end cap faces down in the same direction as the slot in the track. In order to lock the end cap in place, drive a metal screw through the hole in the end cap through the top of the track or pre-drill and use a small nut and bolt. Ensure that the screw is not too long so that it interferes with the path of the carriers. Before proceeding, confirm that the gate is easily removable if the end cap has one.
Determine the best place to screw the track into the ceiling. Mounting screws should be driven into ceiling joists or solid supports. If mounting directly into drywall, anchors may be necessary. Select drilling location off-center of T-bar grid hardware if mounting to a drop ceiling grid.
Mark screws locations on the track so you know where to drill mounting holes for Anti Static Shower Curtains handling.
Drill holes through the top of the track with a small drill bit. Be sure to center these holes through the slot in the track. You may need to move the hole if it is not centered. Be careful not to damage the slot when drilling or screwing.
Using a larger bit size, re-drill each hole to accommodate your mounting screws.
Mark the location of the holes in the ceiling track after positioning the track onto the ceiling.
Drill pilot holes into the ceiling at the locations marked in step #7.
Carriers should be fed into the track by hanging their bodies through the slot below the track.
Drive screws through the track to mount it to the ceiling so that the slot in the track faces the floor. Drive the screws so that the heads of the screws are hidden within the track. Avoid leaving screw heads in a position where they might interfere with the path of the carriers. The carriers must be inserted before the track can be mounted to the ceiling if the installation is wall-to-wall.
If you want to splice two-track sections together for a larger span, place the splicer halfway into one end of the track. This will leave the other half of the splicer extended to accept the second section of the track. To join the splicer and each section of track that is being joined, drive a screw. Ensure that the gap between the tracks is as small as possible.
Installing PVC Curtain is quite easy once you have the track mounted. Start by sliding your carriers along the end of the track. White plastic bodies characterize these carriers, which are compatible with most similar tracks. Once the carriers are complete, add shower curtains.
