I got a new phone a month ago and, thinking that the game data would just switch devices during the data transfer, didnt bother making sure that my account data was properly transfered before wiping my old phone.

Fast forward a semester, a summer, and a switch in programs. I picked the protest data up again for my Data Visualization Studio class.Anything I did with it was for class. Nothing was too ambitious or time-consuming if it was for class. School comes first, after all! So I chugged some books on D3.js, did a speed-run on basic web development, and here we are.

Aside from lurking technical problems, I suspect my biggest challenge will be keeping the data art from unduly influencing the data analysis, and keeping the analysis from draining all the expressiveness from the art. But the only way to find out is to move forward with the project so: off I go!

Simple puzzle games have had a healthy popularity for over 30 years, being included as standard from the early days of desktop computers. In 1992, Microsoft Minesweeper was part of Windows 3.1 and was included in every subsequent release up until Windows 8.

Candy Crush Saga was one of the first and most successful freemium games; while users are able to play every level without paying, they can also purchase in-game items to make it easier to pass difficult puzzles. The game became an international sensation within a few years of its launch in 2012. To date it has been downloaded more than three billion times and has generated over $1 billion each year since 2019.- Advertisement - In response to this success, the puzzle sub-sector has followed the model set by Candy Crush Saga. The freemium model has become ubiquitous and match-3 games dominate. One developer which has capitalised on this trend is Playrix.

The puzzle genre has been a lucrative sub-sector of mobile games, ranking third on revenue charts each year since 2019 according to Sensor Tower. It is also consistently in the top four for downloads, although there are signs of some slight stagnation since 2020.

Some games autosave your progress when you're signed in with Google Play Games Mobile App. If your game autosaves, you can sync your game data and pick up where you left off. If you get a new Android phone, to restore game progress, sign in to the same account you used before.

Puzzle RPG is a Midcore subgenre that combines the addictive and satisfying match3 core gameplay to a heavy collecting and development meta. Motivations data for the subgenre showcases that players who like to pick up a Puzzle RPG title tend to prefer collecting and exploration combined with progression and completing milestones over social elements, customization, and resource management.

In the US, the game has not performed as well at all. There could be a multitude of reasons why this is the case: maybe the brand is not interesting enough for the Western audience, or maybe the character selection is just too overwhelming for a regular player. The puzzle levels are uncommonly long, and the gameplay is a bit frustrating at times, which might alienate some. In comparison, a Japanese Puzzle RPG that has performed well in the US and Japan alike is Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle. Dragon Ball Z is a familiar brand in both markets, and the game has rather accessible core gameplay.

What is taken for granted above is that to move a single label you have to be in chart edit mode. The easy way to get there is to double-click in the chart. The menu ribbons change from standard ribbons to the chart edit ribbon. Very handy. Now if you are hovering over the grid part of the chart, the mouse is a crossed pair of double-headed arrows. Now you can move the grid part of the chart inside the overall chart box. Summon your inner fighter pilot. Very carefully hover over any data label by a data point (I was doing a scatter plot). The mouse cursor changes back to the normal single arrow. Without moving your hand more that 7 micro-inches, do a left click. Now all the data labels should have a tiny green box over them. Breathe. Now you can point to any individual label, and if you are precise enough, a single left click will then put little green boxes around that single label. Now right click and you get the choice to edit an individual label. For me this was perfect. Where I had two data points that overlapped, I could set one label to the right and the other to below.

"To understand something, write about it," they say. I'm curious. So I started writing: first on my personal blog, mostly about data vis when I got into the field around 2014. There was so much to learn! Since November 2017, I get paid by Datawrapper to do just that: Figuring things out, and taking you all on a tour with me. These are my best articles from both eras:

Before delving into data vis, I studied print design for six years. These are some of older student works (still data vis related-ish), and newer ones I've created for newsrooms or my blog. You can also find some charts I've created during my time at Datawrapper:

Lisa Charlotte Muth is a Berlin-based writer at the data visualization tool Datawrapper. In 2016, Lisa was an OpenNews Fellow at NPR in Washington, DC. Before that, she created data visualizations for newsrooms like Tagesspiegel, Bloomberg, SPIEGEL & ZEIT Online. She co-hosts the Berlin Data Vis meetup, organizes the global, digital Data Vis Book Club and tries to live a good life.

The game is compatible with the Nintendo Switch Online service's Save Data Cloud Backup feature. Save data that has been backed up may be downloaded to the console.

Please note that in-game items obtained from present codes, etc., subsequently to the most recent saved data backup will be lost.

According to data collected in the 12 months preceding the end of March 2014, Puzzle & Dragons earned an average of $11.89 per user, more than five times the ARPU of its next nearest competitor: Big Fish Casino, which has ARPU of $2.07.

Both companies were acquired by the Japanese telecomms corporation SoftBank in big money deals. However, according to the data even when the ARPU of both Supercell games are combined, Puzzle & Dragons still earns around six times the revenue.

GungHo noted that it will not be possible for users to transfer game data to other Puzzle & Dragons servers, and those seeking refunds for purchased Magic Stones should consult with Apple Care or Apple Stores for their region.

Following a conversation with a furious Joon, she will leave the room, locking down the defences, removing the access stairway to her workshop, and spawn a Deluxe Jade Detainer and two Jade Couriers. With the robots defeated, you will now need to go through a puzzle level which will require you to constantly transfer the Jade Power Charges between batteries, the end goal of which being to have four accessible charges (three for the stairs, and one for the door) to gain access to Joon's Workshop.

Friend Matches, World Matches, Egg Machine use, and aspects of Custom Mode (the Dungeon Plaza, ID search, dungeon uploads and data downloads) rely on the transmission of data. If your network connection weakens or is interrupted (by the console being put in Airplane or Sleep mode, etc.), it can lead to issues within the game.

*For best results, we recommend playing with a stable network connection.

NOTE: Cloud Saving is no longer supported in the game. The reasoning for this is that System Backups are more stable. It also removes the ability of users to improperly utilize cloud saving which leads to data loss.

3) At the bottom of the information box that appears TAP the Upload Savedata button. NOTE: Once the Upload Savedata button has been tapped it will immediately overwrite the Transfer Save data with the Current Save data. This action cannot be reversed once tapped.

4) A "Tips" information box will appear asking the player whether they are sure they want to proceed to upload the local save data to the cloud as "Transit Save"? followed by further information. Tap the "Confirm" button to proceed.

4) A "Tips" information box will appear asking the player to confirm that they want to load their system save progress. The information that will be loaded is listed below this prompt. It includes the following information: Total Elf Power // Golden Leaves // Home Space // Stage Progress // Gems // Stones. NOTE: Once the Confirm button is tapped it will overwrite the Current Save data found there with the Transfer Save data copied from the first device. This action cannot be reversed once tapped.

Discord continues to grow faster than we expected and so does our user-generated content. With more users comes more chat messages. In July, we announced 40 million messages a day, in December we announced 100 million, and as of this blog post we are well past 120 million. We decided early on to store all chat history forever so users can come back at any time and have their data available on any device. This is a lot of data that is ever increasing in velocity, size, and must remain available. How do we do it? Cassandra!

The original version of Discord was built in just under two months in early 2015. Arguably, one of the best databases for iterating quickly is MongoDB. Everything on Discord was stored in a single MongoDB replica set and this was intentional, but we also planned everything for easy migration to a new database (we knew we were not going to use MongoDB sharding because it is complicated to use and not known for stability). This is actually part of our company culture: build quickly to prove out a product feature, but always with a path to a more robust solution.

The messages were stored in a MongoDB collection with a single compound index on channel_id and created_at. Around November 2015, we reached 100 million stored messages and at this time we started to see the expected issues appearing: the data and the index could no longer fit in RAM and latencies started to become unpredictable. It was time to migrate to a database more suited to the task. ff782bc1db
