Written for my debut album Present Life in 2024, When We're Old initially incoorporated piano trio into the Jazz Sextet setting. This time I decided to explode the tune into a full big band setting, looking to acheive more textures and colors between the sections.
Grade 4
Written for the CCM Jazz Orchestra, this chart reflects some of the inspirations of my early listening in the big band tradition. I fell in love with the music of Tom Garling as well as some of the Chicago big bands of the late 90's and early 2000's
Grade 4
Written in January of 2026, Weezy is an easy swinging stylistic study in the writing of Oliver Nelson, and Sammy Nestico.
With solo sections featuring Trumpet, and Alto saxophone, there is a lot of room for subtle improvisation and response in the rhythm section as well.
This Arrangement also features a Flute lead whisper shout, that includes a set of alternate parts to accommodate woodwind doubling ability.
Trumpet range F6 , Bass Bone Range C2

Composed and Arranged for the Warner St. Jazz Orchestra in the fall months of 2025, this chart explores some more modern and modal writing, with extensive study into the styles of Thad Jones, Duke Pearson, and other arrangers of the mid 60's and early 70's.
This piece is somewhat of a piano feature, with ensemble sections setting up and bookending. The saxophone section is featured as well with an optional Soprano Lead written in the Alto I part.
