Effective date: September 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Pushup Legends ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the App on Android or iOS. The App counts your workout reps with your phone's camera and lets you compete on leaderboards and in live duels. Camera video is processed on your device only. It is never recorded, stored, or uploaded.
Pushup Legends turns bodyweight exercises such as push-ups, squats, planks, sit-ups and pull-ups into a game. The App watches your movement through the camera, counts your reps on the device, and uses the counts for your progress, quests, leaderboards and duels against other players.
The App uses the camera only while a workout or duel is running. Each frame is analyzed on your device by Google ML Kit Pose Detection to find body positions and count reps. Frames are not saved, not recorded, and not sent to us or to anyone else. Only the resulting numbers, for example "12 push-ups", may leave your device as described below.
The App stores your game progress in its private storage on your device: level, XP, streaks, rep totals, quest progress, your nickname and chosen avatar, and settings. It also stores how many battles and duels you have won, to decide when to ask you for a rating. This data is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its data.
Guest account. When you first use online features, the App signs you in anonymously with Google Firebase Authentication. This creates a random user ID and does not include your name, email address or any other personal details.
Sign in with Google or Apple (optional). If you choose to sign in to back up your progress, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google, or your name and email address from Apple. Apple lets you hide your real email address. Your email address is used only for signing in and is never shown to other players.
When you complete workouts, the App publishes a leaderboard entry that other players of the App can see. It contains your display name, your avatar, your profile photo if you signed in with Google, your level, and your rep counts per exercise for the day, the week and all time. Your display name is the nickname you choose in the App, otherwise the name from your Google or Apple account, otherwise a generated name such as "Legend 7F3A". You can change your nickname at any time in the Profile screen.
So that you can continue on a new phone or after reinstalling, the App stores a copy of your save data (level, XP, stats and quest progress) in Google Cloud Firestore. This copy is linked to your account and can only be read by you.
When you play a duel, the App stores match information in Cloud Firestore: the exercise, duration, the user IDs of both players, each player's rep count, and the match status. When you look for a random opponent, a short-lived queue entry with your user ID and level is created. Your opponent sees your display name, avatar and live rep count during the match.
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used so we can improve it. Firebase may collect:
Usage events, such as app opens, screens viewed, and the results of battles and duels (for example the stage, the exercise, the number of reps, and whether you won), and whether you answered the rating prompt.
Device and app information such as device model, operating system version, App version, language, approximate country (derived from IP address), and a randomly generated app-instance identifier.
The App does not collect your advertising ID and does not use analytics data for advertising. Analytics data is not linked to your name or email address.
We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to receive reports when the App crashes or hits an error. A report may include the device model, operating system version, App version, a technical stack trace, the time of the crash, and a randomly generated installation identifier. Crash reports do not include camera images or your personal content.
If you invite a friend to a duel, the App opens your device's share sheet with a link and a match code. We do not see who you share it with.
If you choose to send us feedback from the rating prompt, the App opens your email app with a message addressed to us that includes your device model, operating system version and App version. We receive it only if you send it, and use it only to answer you and improve the App.
The App does not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, advertising ID, or health data from Google Health Connect or Apple HealthKit. The App currently does not contain advertising and does not offer in-app purchases.
Camera: to detect your movement and count reps on your device while a workout or duel is running.
Internet: to sign in, sync leaderboards, back up progress, play duels, and send analytics and crash reports.
We use the information described above only to:
Count reps and run the App's workouts, quests and game features.
Show leaderboards and run duels between players.
Back up and restore your progress.
Understand how the App is used in aggregate, and find and fix crashes and bugs.
Keep the App fair and secure, for example by rejecting impossible scores.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
The App uses the following services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
Google Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics and Crashlytics: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google ML Kit (runs on your device): https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms
Google Sign-In: https://policies.google.com/privacy

How Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Google Firebase may process technical data such as IP address and device information in order to provide these services.
Data on your device remains until you uninstall the App or clear its data. Your account, progress backup, leaderboard entries and duel records are kept while your account exists, or until you delete your account in the App or ask us to delete them. Analytics data is kept by Google Firebase for up to 14 months and then deleted or aggregated. Crash reports are kept by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
Change your display name in the Profile screen at any time.
Delete local data by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage.
Delete your account and online data: if you signed in with Apple or Google, open Profile in the App and tap Delete account. After you confirm and sign in once more, your account, progress backup and leaderboard entries are deleted right away, and your name and picture are removed from past duels. A guest's data is removed by uninstalling the App. You can also email us at the address below with the subject "Delete my Pushup Legends data" and your display name, and we will delete your data within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us to exercise these rights.
The App is not directed to children under 13, or the applicable age of digital consent in your country, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
Data sent between the App and Google Firebase is encrypted in transit. Access rules on our database allow only you to read your progress backup and only you to change your own leaderboard entry.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
