Garoono ("we," "our," or "us") built the PushPass app ("App") as a freemium application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App.
PushPass uses your device camera to count pushup repetitions using on-device AI pose detection. All camera processing happens entirely on your device — no video, images, or body movement data is ever uploaded, stored, or transmitted to any server. The App also uses Apple Screen Time / Android Usage Stats to block selected apps until pushups are completed. We do not access the content of any blocked app. The App uses third-party services (RevenueCat and Firebase) that may collect limited device and usage data as described below.
We do not collect, upload, record, or store any camera frames, video, images, or body movement data processed during pushup detection sessions.
We do not collect biometric data, health data, fitness data, or pose landmark coordinates.
All pushup detection, rep counting, and pose analysis happens locally on your device using on-device AI (Google ML Kit). Camera data is processed in memory and discarded immediately after each frame. Nothing is ever written to disk or transmitted externally.
We do not collect information about which apps you choose to block. Your blocked app list is stored locally on your device only and never synced to any server.
We do not collect, store, or access the content of any app you block using PushPass.
We do not require you to create an account. The App functions with anonymous authentication.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal contact information unless you choose to contact us directly.
The following data is stored only on your device (never on our servers):
Your list of blocked apps (stored in device local storage / App Group container on iOS)
Your earned unlock time balance
Your pushup session history (rep counts, session duration, date)
Your streak data
Your in-app settings and preferences
This data never leaves your device except as described in the anonymous analytics section below (aggregate counts only, never raw session data).
RevenueCat (In-App Purchases) We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat may collect:
Anonymous app user ID
Purchase and subscription history
Device type and operating system version
RevenueCat does not collect personally identifiable information through our App. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics & Cloud Messaging) We use Firebase to understand general App usage patterns, fix bugs, and deliver notifications. These services may collect:
Anonymous usage events (e.g., number of sessions started, pushups completed as aggregate counts)
App performance data and crash logs (device state, stack traces)
Device information (model, OS version)
Anonymous instance IDs and push notification tokens
This data is collected in aggregate and cannot be used to identify you personally. Camera data and body movement data are never included in any analytics event. For more information, see Firebase Privacy Policy.
The App requests the following device permissions to function correctly:
Camera (Required) Used exclusively to count pushup repetitions using on-device AI pose detection. The camera is only active during an active pushup session that you initiate. No frames are recorded, saved, or transmitted. Processing happens in real-time in memory only.
Screen Time / Family Controls (iOS — Required for core feature) Required to block selected apps and display a block screen when you open them. PushPass uses Apple's FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks to apply and remove app restrictions. We do not access the content of any blocked app, and your blocked app selections are stored locally on your device only.
Usage Access / Foreground App Detection (Android — Required for core feature) Required to detect when a blocked app is opened so the block screen can be displayed. PushPass monitors which app is in the foreground using Android's UsageStatsManager. We do not read the content of any app. This permission is used solely to enforce your chosen app blocks.
Display Over Other Apps / System Alert Window (Android — Required for core feature) Required to display PushPass's block screen on top of a blocked app when you attempt to open it.
Notifications (Optional) Used to send you optional reminders to complete your pushup sessions and weekly progress summaries. You can disable these at any time in your device settings.
Internet Required for processing in-app purchases, fetching remote configurations, and sending anonymous crash reports and analytics. Internet access is never used to upload camera data, body movement data, or your blocked app list.
PushPass uses your camera to count pushup repetitions. We want to be completely transparent about how this works:
Camera frames are analyzed in real-time on your device using Google ML Kit Pose Detection
Each frame is processed in memory to extract pose landmarks (joint positions)
Pose landmarks are used only to count repetitions and assess form
No frames, images, video, or pose coordinates are saved to device storage
No frames, images, video, or pose coordinates are transmitted to any server, including ours
The camera is only active when you explicitly start a pushup session inside PushPass
You can verify this by checking your network traffic — no data is transmitted during a session
PushPass uses Apple's Screen Time framework (iOS) and Android's Usage Stats API (Android) to block selected apps. We want to be completely transparent:
You select which apps to block inside PushPass
Your blocked app list is stored in your device's local storage only
We do not transmit your blocked app list to any server
We cannot see which apps you use, how long you use them, or their content
On iOS, all blocking is enforced by Apple's native ManagedSettings framework
Removing the App or revoking Screen Time permission in your device settings will remove all blocks immediately
The limited data collected through third-party services is used to:
Process in-app purchases, unlock premium features, and manage subscriptions
Understand how users interact with the App at an aggregate level to prioritize improvements
Identify and fix crashes and bugs
Deliver optional push notifications regarding session reminders and weekly summaries (if permitted)
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. The only data shared is the limited information collected by the third-party services listed above (RevenueCat, Firebase), and such sharing is governed by their respective privacy policies.
We will never sell camera data, body movement data, pose data, or your blocked app list. These categories of data are not collected by us in the first place.
Since we do not collect personal data directly, there is no personal data retained on our servers. Your local app data (session history, streak, settings) remains on your device until you delete the App or clear app data. Third-party services retain data according to their own retention policies:
RevenueCat: RevenueCat's data retention policies
Firebase: Firebase data retention policies
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Note: PushPass is designed as a self-imposed productivity tool for adults. It is not a parental control application and should not be used as one.
We take strict measures to protect your privacy through software architecture:
All pushup detection and pose analysis occurs locally on your device and is never transmitted externally
Your blocked app list is stored locally only and never synced to external servers
Communications with third-party services (purchases, analytics) are encrypted in transit
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the App
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data. Since we do not directly collect personal data beyond what anonymous analytics services record, most of these rights apply to the third-party services used in the App. You can:
Manage push notification permissions through your device settings
Revoke camera permission at any time in your device settings (this will disable pushup detection)
Revoke Screen Time / Usage Access permission at any time in your device settings (this will remove all app blocks)
Delete all local app data by deleting the App from your device
Contact us with any privacy-related requests
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
