The Purple Purlers is a group of students who attend Fairlawn Public School that have a passion for knitting. We are helping the forgotten and abandoned animals in the world with our knitted items. Over the last few years, we have donated over 100 hand-made articles of clothing and blankets to different foundations across Ontario. We have donated to organizations such as the Brampton Animal Services, Forgotten Ones Cat Rescue, Toronto Cat Rescue. Currently, we are preparing a package of Animal Blankets to send to the Aspen Wildlife Lodge.

In June of 2019, the Purple Purler team traveled to the Brampton Entrepreneurship Center (BEC) to compete in the Youth Dragon's Dungeon competition. Here, they provided an amazing pitch about the issues surrounding abandoned animals in the GTA while also showing what Purple Purlers has done to solve this issue. We were able to secure second place of $300 which will help these animals tremendously! Thank you to everyone who participated in our events and we cannot wait to see where the future will take us!

Purple Purlers was started with one goal in mind, to help abandoned animals find a place they can feel safe and call home. Since we started this charity, we have grown. In fact, we have grown so much that we are now raising over 100 blankets a month! Thank you so much to everyone who has participated in this cause. These blankets will truly go to a cute little animal in need!
