Purple Power Scholarship 

PURPOSE

The Purple Power Cheer Company Scholarship Program helps ensure financial0 circumstances do not prevent a dedicated young athlete from participating in

cheerleading. Scholarships may provide full or partial assistance toward eligible program fees based on available funding.

ELIGIBILITY & EXPECTATIONS

Program Eligibility: Athlete must be eligible for the youth program and intend to participate on a Purple Power team for the season awarded.

Financial Need: Applicant must demonstrate genuine financial need. The program may consider household circumstances, number of dependents/children

participating in activities, unexpected hardship, and ability to pay. Reasonable documentation may be requested.

Commitment: Regular attendance, punctuality, full participation, competition/performance attendance when possible, communication regarding absences, and

proper care of uniforms/equipment are expected.

Character & Sportsmanship: Athlete must demonstrate respect, teamwork, encouragement, good sportsmanship, and a positive attitude toward coaches,

teammates, officials, and families.

Fundraising: The scholarship recipient and parent/guardian are expected to actively participate in available program fundraising opportunities, including events,

sales, or other activities. Families should make a reasonable effort to meet fundraising participation expectations and communicate with leadership if

circumstances prevent participation.

Conduct: Serious or repeated bullying, harassment, fighting, disrespect, intentional property damage, or failure to follow team expectations may result in

scholarship review or revocation.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must submit: completed application; brief explanation of financial need; requested assistance; athlete age/grade and intended team;

parent/guardian contact information; one letter of recommendation; and any additional information the family wishes to provide.

Letter of Recommendation: One letter from a non-family adult familiar with the athlete (teacher, coach, school staff member, community/youth leader, supervisor,

or similar). The letter should address character, work ethic, responsibility, teamwork, positive attitude, and commitment/willingness to grow. Immediate family

members may not provide the recommendation.

AWARDS & SELECTION

Awards may be full, partial, or targeted to approved expenses such as registration, tuition, uniform costs, or competition fees. Awards depend on available funds

and qualified applicants. A prior scholarship does not guarantee future assistance.

Applications are reviewed based on financial need, commitment, character/recommendation, family willingness to support the program, ability to

participate with partial assistance, available funds, and number of qualified applicants. Applications are handled respectfully and confidentially. Decisions by

program leadership/scholarship committee are final.

RECIPIENT AGREEMENT

By accepting a scholarship, the athlete and parent/guardian agree to follow team expectations, participate consistently, attend required events when possible,

communicate appropriately, maintain positive conduct, participate in available fundraising, and support the program's scholarship expectations.
