Vertical Flight Systems Purdue

We are a student-run, multi-disciplinary engineering design team, innovating at the forefront of a young industry. We are under the wing of Purdue University's AIAA chapter whose history, both as a national institution as well as its history around our campus, has served to complement our ambitious team. Since 2017, we set out with a mission to transform urban mobility, enabled by the minds of Purdue's best and brightest. Learn more about the team here.

While the team is preparing for our flight test for our first iteration vehicle, BoilerUP 1, we are also setting up system requirements for our second iteration vehicle which will have an increased payload and endurance. The ultimate goal is to have a fully electric vehicle capable of carrying a person by 2030. To learn more about it, or to help us achieve this goal, please Contact Us!

We have students from a wide variety of engineering and science backgrounds helping our team. Learn about our subteams here.

Our team is rapidly growing and evolving! Check out our social media pages to learn more about our team's accomplishments.

Where are we?

We are based in Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering (ARMS) on Purdue University's campus (West Lafayette, IN).

We encourage any interested students, faculty, or members of industry to attend our general meetings!
