The Master of Arts in Sociology program strengthens the discipline’s focus on the study of human social relationships and institutions using an advanced application of sociological theories, frameworks, and research methods.
The PUP MA Sociology program requires coursework, passing of comprehensive exams, completion of thesis and research publication for the granting of the degree. The program aims to develop independent scholars who engage in research, teaching, or participate in a variety of other settings. Through its courses, the program offers comprehensive training in the knowledge and skills to equip competent and relevant social scientists and teachers, and researchers in a wide range of organizations.

This MA Sociology curriculum of PUP is designed to provide advanced education and training in the field of sociology. The program is in line with CMO No. 15 S. 2019 Policies Standards and Guidelines For Graduate Education in the Philippines.
