Major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM)
The BSBA course, major in Marketing Management is a program which deals with the nature, scope and role of marketing to make our economy grow and help people attain a decent standard of living. The marketing concepts and specialized activities like marketing research, selling, and product planning and development, etc. are designed to prepare the students to become proactive participants in the lucrative world of business. The program offers Marketing Management as major, and Advertising/PR or Management as minor
Objectives of the Program
To produce technically competent and morally upright professionals who are committed to the ethical practices of their professions and who are dedicated to the country's development.
Equip students with the knowledge of the principles and concepts of marketing
Help the students to seek employment and entry level jobs like sales representative or position of responsibility as marketing manager, sales manager and all marketing executive positions.
To guide the students in organizing for managing entrepreneurial activities if they decide to be self-employed so as to lessen the unemployment problem.
Prepare the students to pursue a teaching career or graduate studies in Marketing.
Admission Requirements
Admission requirements for the BSBA-MM programs are as follows:
Incoming Freshmen
Must have passed the PUP College Entrance Test (PUPCET)
Must have a high school average of 82% and above
Must have a grade of 82% in English
Must have passed the interview given by the college
Shiftees
Must have completed at least one (1) year residence in previous college with GWA of 2.0 or higher and with no failing grade, incomplete, and/ or withdrawn/ dropped course.
Passed the college screening
Filed a Shifting Form duly released, accepted and acknowledged by the releasing college, accepting college, and OUR respectively.
Acceptance of application for shifting to the program is subject to the availability of slots.
Transferees
Must have completed at least one (1) year residence in previous college /university with no failing grade, incomplete, and/or withdrawn/dropped course.
Passed the college screening.
Acceptance of application for transferees to the program is subject to the availability of slots.
Retention Requirements
The College being a branch of the University and in consonance with the academic rules, the students must comply the following:
No failures of grade equivalent to 75% on the total units enrolled in the previous semester;
With good moral character;
And finished the course in the prescribed number of years or with an extension of one year on a case to case basis.
