HISTORY

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) began offering office administration programs in the 1970s. The college that offered these programs was renamed several times, including the College of Secretarial and Business Education (CSBE) and the College of Office Administration and Business Teacher Education (COABTE). 

• 1974–1975: The Department of Business Teacher Education was moved to the College of Arts and Sciences 

• 1978: The Secretarial Studies Department and the Business Teacher Education Department were merged to form the Faculty of Secretarial and Business Education (FSBE) 

• 1983: The Faculty of Secretarial and Business Education was renamed the College of Secretarial and Business Education (CSBE) 

• 1986: The College of Secretarial and Business Education was renamed the College of Office Administration and Business Teacher Education (COABTE) 

• 2010–2011: PUP began offering a Diploma in Office Management Technology 

• Present: PUP offers a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) program 

The BSOA program combines courses in office administration, management, and technology. It prepares students for general and specialized support, supervisory, and managerial positions.
