JUNIOR COOPERATORS ASSOCIATION
The Junior Cooperators Association is an accredited student academic organization of the College of Social Sciences and Development – Department of Cooperatives and Social Development. JCA continues to strive for excellence and promote the concept of cooperativism since 2002. It was awarded as one of the leading student academic organization in the Nemesio Prudente Leadership Award. It deals with strengthening and developing the students’ intellectual and social interaction for future application.
HISTORY
It originated from the Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Kooperatiba (SAMANAKO). JCA continues to strive for excellence and promote the concept of cooperativism since 2002. It was awarded as one of the leading student academic organizations in the Nemesio Prudente leadership Award. Junior Cooperators Association deals with strengthening and developing the students’ intellectual and social interaction for future application.
The Junior Cooperators Association (JCA) holds the General Assembly of BSC students. It is committed to provide excellence and relevant programs that has marked its legacy. It focuses on the following areas such as (1) Academic Programs which has Leadership Trainings for its members, conducts Local Inter-Year Level Academic Contests, participates in the University Wide Academic Contests, and holds annual recognition rites for DCSD students; (2) Sports & Recreation Activities for the students; (3) Student Organizations Fellowship Program is conducted annually which is called the Development Seminar and Team Building (DSTB) for its members; (4) Skills and Talent Improvement under the Culture and the Arts Committee; and (5) Outreach Programs, whereas on AY 2019-2010, JCA leaders has been involved and participated on the training for the Development Action for Women Network (DAWN) in Gender Issues and Capability Building, Leadership and Organizational Development, an NGO that assists Japanese Filipino Children (JFC) as part of its extension program.

- To promote and strengthen the ideals and concept of cooperativism in the University as an agent of change and development.
- To strengthen the academic consciousness and excellence among the Bachelor of Science in Cooperatives.
- To develop the personality of its member socially, intellectually and physically.
- To improve the knowledge and competencies of the Bachelor of Science in Cooperatives students in academic endeavor and related experiences and develop leadership capabilities of its members.
- To cultivate and improve the cultural and artistic talents of its member in a productive manner.
- To ensure that the duly elected and designated JCA Officers and Committees of the organization shall perform their duties and responsibilities faithfully as embodied in the by-laws.
- To participate in the academic and related activities inside and outside the University.
- To strengthen partnership and linkages with various organization inside and outside PUP in academic, extension and research programs.
